  ESTUPENDO HOTEL

  El lugar paradisíaco, el edificio es un castillo con foso de agua, exteriormente de ensueño, dentro es más austero, al estilo de albergue de esta cadena, pero muy aceptable, el personal muy amable y los alrededores muy bonitos y tranquilo, ideal para desplazarse en bici.

  Beautiful but very basic

  We visited during late August heatwave and temps were 29-32c. The rooms don't have aircon and the windows don't fully open, it was a dreadful nights sleep. The room is pretty spartan, beds are bunks and not great if. You're a back pain sufferer. Dinner if you pay for it is VERY basic buffet, I didn't like any of the two choices, but if you're a veggie you'll be fine! Setting is incredible dunes, forest and the sea, wow. Parking is about 500m from the castle, at night there is no lighting, it's far from ideal, and you'll need a luggage cart to get bags from car to room. No lifts either just a narrow windy staircase, it was exhausting. No towels either be warned unless you ask for them. All in all it is what it says it is, a hostel, an incredible setting given, but expect no comforts. If. You're used to. Even 2 star accommodation and modern basics like aircon and a TV and kettle In your Room youll be disappointed.

  Happy Family Stay

  Loved the location, gardens, surrounding, proximity to beach, the bike hire, the help from staff, the bar and the breakfasts. It is a hostel so rooms aren't luxurious, but do the job! With unkeen cyclists we headed off on hire bikes (easily hired from the hostel) along with the map. The routes are wonderful, car free and easy to follow. Hope to be able to get there again one day. We were there in August 2019..but that's not available on the "when did you travel?"option!

  Amazing on the outside, OK inside

  This is an amazing building and location. The castle is situation right inside De Manteling, a beautiful forest between Domburg and Oostkapelle, great for cycling and hiking. Close to the beach and at the same time to Domburg. Also right next to it is Terra Maris, a very nice nature museum. The museum is relatively expensive, but you get free entry when staying in the Stayokay! Inside, it's really a hostel. We stayed with the family (two adults, two kids) in a four-bed room, and it reminded me at the times of these school trips back in the 80s. Cleanliness is ok, but you simply don't feel very comfortable. If you just stay for a night or maybe two, and don't plan on spending any other time in your room, it's ok. Not cheap though, we paid over 160 EUR for the 4-bed room incl. breakfast (booked about two months in advance, if I recall correctly). Breakfast was good. Nothing fancy, but good for a hostel. Service was quite attentive and they filled up empty baskets. Parking is free, but slightly remote (maybe 500 meters away). The free entry to Terra Maris brought it from a 3 to a 4 point rating in my case.

  Lovely stay in Domburg

  This excellent hostel offers a wonderful atmosphere for a familys stay. It has a nice location in a little castle and you only have to walk 5 minutes to the beach. Breakfast, tea and dinner are delicious! The staff is helpful and really nice. Next to the hostel is a tiny museum with a big garden, where you can see a wooden tower of old ages and explore the typical delta landscape. I really recommend this nice youthhostel! :)
