Staff discourteous, telling falsehoods (?), rejects most requests, giving bogus rationaleFirst, at check-in, the staff person was discourteous by giving commands about papers to sign, rather than making requests. When I was reading the single-page documents, she stood before me rolling her eyes like I was wasting her time and I should sign without reading. Upon arrival in the room, we immediately noticed a Queen bed instead of King (we had reserved a king bed). We called front desk, and she argued and disputed our claims for 15 mins saying that no king bed is avail in the entire hotel. At some point she asked us, QUOTE "why do you need a King bed?!?" That is a particularly discourteous question to ask hotel guests. After more of her disputing our statements, she said she found a room with a separate bedroom, and asked us, if that would help. We asked, was that room the same size room (square footage) as the room we were calling her from. She said she doesn't know the sq ft, "but all rooms are same size." We knew that we had seen rooms advertised as 350sq ft and 500 sq ft, and we had reserved the 500 sq ft rm, so it seemed inaccurate that she said all rooms are the same size. So, we asked if we could see the room. She replied, that is impossible, because if you open the door and look into the room, "then you will contaminate it with your germs." Weary from the long drive and discourteous phone call, we yielded, and agreed to move to the room without seeing it. She instructed us to come to the front desk to get the keys. But when I arrived at the front desk, she did something like a bait-and-switch and said it will cost extra money and had not told us how much money! I did not agree to pay more for what we had already reserved. I asked to speak to the "manager, and she said, you cant! There is no manager! I said surely, there must be a manager. She said he's not here! I said, can we please call him/her. She said with an escalating attitude, "No, he's out of the country!" I said, then can we please call his back-up? With all discourtesy, she blurted "WHY?! He's just gonna tell you the same thing I just told you!" I asked, can we please call someone with decision-making authority. She replied saying "so, you just want to speak to someone with more authority than me, to tell you the same thing I just told you? Why?!!" I repeated the request for her to call management, and then she pivoted, saying, that she could not give me a king room unless I showed her the confirmation email that I had received, showing that we had reserved a room with a king bed. It is insulting that she told us that it is impossible for us to have a room with a king bed because none are available in the entire hotel, and 20 minutes later, she told us that we can have a room with a king bed *only* if we show her our email confirmation. We ultimately were able to show the email confirmation and she gave us the key to a room with a king bed which was *next door* to the first room that we entered. In both rooms, there was exactly one set of towels. We asked for more towels, and staff responded by asking, what type of room are you in, because your room type dictates the number of towels that you get. He looked up our room type and said, you only get 2 sets of towels. Only then could I say, currently we only have one set of towels. So he said you can have one additional set of towels. Then I requested extra pillows (for chronic back pain). First they said, it is impossible because they are operating at capacity. We said, since covid-19 restrictions created diminished capacity, there are many empty rooms, so may we have pillows from a vacant room. Staff replied that there were no vacant rooms, and *ALL* extra pillows had been sent to corporate to be sanitized. For additional context, we noticed that the front desk staff initially answered "No" to most every request: After a long drive, we asked for early check-in, and they said impossible. We asked if we could leave any suitcase at the front desk until check-in. They said no. We asked for later check-out, and their first response was no. We had requested a dish towel (which we noticed in the first room, but missing in the second room). Initially, staff replied no, saying that none of the rooms in the hotel have a dish towel. The hallways were very hot and humid. Overall, we were able to enjoy the room and its furnishings. But it was disconcerting and irritating to experience some of the staff being rude, discourteous, insulting, and apparently untruthful. One of the exceptions was Tyrone in Housekeeping. We were there for 3 days and saw him everyday, and he was always seen to be working diligent, and pleasant, helpful, courteous when we spoke with him. So, on our last day, we went and found Tyrone and conveyed our appreciation for his work and ethic. We welcome the opportunity to speak with the/a manager, about the entire experience. So far, we have been unsuccessful in reaching a manager.

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! DO NOT COME HERE DURING THE PANDEMICThis is BY FAR the worst hotel experience of my life. If you want a hotel that doesnt care about your health during the pandemic go ahead and choose this one. I spoke on the phone with guest services at the front desk yesterday and they specifically told me it was fine to stay until 2pm instead of the regular check out time. On the day of checkout I had several employees knocking on the door asking me about my checkout time and then they kept knocking on the door to tell me that I had to leave at 12 when I was told I could leave at 2pm. Heres the thing, for three of those door knocks, I opened the door and the employees were wearing their mask on their chins talking directly at me without their faces or nose covered during the pandemic. Then when I called the front desk again they said I had to leave or pay for an extra night. I had explained Id have to wait outside for 2 hours to get picked up as I do not live in this state. Absolutely obnoxious. Do yourself a favor and go with a hotel that has a staff that cares about your health instead of putting you in a position where you could be exposed to the virus. Zero stars. Never again.

Quietly kept with No hustle & bustle of the city....This was a great spot to stay at! It was close to family for our Thanksgiving visit in 2019. The exterior and interior of the hotel was nicely maintained. The buffet breakfast was a hit for the kids and prevented us from that annoying daily breakfast expense while on vacation. There is a grocery store just around the corner from the hotel so you can stock up and spend money on something else since there is a full kitchen in the suites. We stayed in a 2 bedroom 2 bath suite where the king bedroom/bath was on one side, living/kitchen rooms in the center and the 2 queen/bath was on the opposite side. This was great and spacious for everyone. There is even a pullout couch in the living room. Great place; great stay!

STAY AWAY!! $250 incidental hold you'll never get back.My family and I reserved a double bed room with an extra pull out bed. When I checked in I was told the property no longer provides that type of room. The manager was rude and I was not offered any accommodation even though I paid for a room I didnt recieve. The police were called later that night due to a party taking place. There was Marijuana smoke throughout the hotel. I called down to the front desk to complain. The next day I checked out and was charged a $250 smoking fee, even though I was with my child and do not smoke. The General manager Ali is incompetent, rude and extremely unprofessional. THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. If you want to be scammed out of your money, book a room here.

STAY AWAY!!!Larissa at the front desk in lanham Maryland Staybridge suites has bad customer service. She was very condescending, rude, disrespectful, sarcastic and unhelpful. I would not advise saying here in regards to how I was treated. No one deserves to be treated or judged based on how they look or dress and for this reason she did. She also spoke to me as if I was illiterate and had no intelligence when I asked her questions. She needs to be trained on customer service especially if this hotel values their customers and referrals because next time I will reach out to the district manager.
