Comfy, cozy, and cleanTo call this a Pittsburgh hotel is a stretch, as it's up in Cranberry, but just off the Pa. Turnpike, 18 or 19 miles from downtown. This place overcomes some of the usual downsides of most Staybridge properties (the dormat-quality scratchy towels, the lack of an overhang for unloading (no fun in a mountain thunderstorm or blizzard), and a paucity of luggage carts (just two little pizza-slice model ones for this four-story property). The staff (notably Shelby the solicitous kitchen attendant, is quite friendly and helpful; the parking spaces are bigger than usual (an amenity for us SUV drivers who like our cars un-dinged); the breakfast, while by no means extravagant, is tasty and includes items such as lunch meats and cottage cheese that are absent at most Staybridge Inns; the beds and pillows are a dream (sort of a pun); the business center computers actually work and print; and the rooms' kitchen/living room space is ample and the utensils and silverware better than your average bear. ATTENTION Staybridge corporate types: This hotel shares a policy that should be abolished in every one of your properties -- it leaves printed copies of guests' bills whether they ask for them or not -- here, even folded OUTSIDE the door. Sorry, but we don't want any of our personal information available to snoops or sneaks. Bills should be presented electronically only. If a guest wants a printed receipt, he or she can ask for it at the front desk.

Poor representation of the brand.Pros: Second room was clean. Fully equipped kitchen (less oven). The property is new which is why it is a shame to mention all of the below... Cons: The parking lot is too small for the amount of rooms and for the clientele this hotel is serving. When approaching the front desk there are two chairs in front of the desk blocking where you need to check in. (?). First room had a broken HVAC unit. Walls were scuffed and marked like someone kicked it with a shoe. Second room had all the lights on and the dresser drawers opened. (?) The bed was sloping to the right. There is no carpeting under the desk area. I could only imagine the noise below from moving the chair across the floor. The entire third floor smelled of fried fish and body odor. No hallway ventilation. The social hour food was good. However, the soda machine had only Diet Coke and tea. Three of the soda selections were out. People were reaching in to the chip bins with their bare hands. Same, with the cookies. The attendants walked right by them and never put tongs out. The one attendant had long hair, not in a hair restraint prepping food. Neither attendant wore a uniform, or had a name badge on. Front desk was indifferent. Even the snack/sundry area was disappointing. Do NOT get a room by the firepit area. Currently there are about 10 men standing around drinking beer, smoking, and shouting. This does NOT seem like a place for families. There are about 20 other hotels in the Cranberry area. Some much less in cost than this hotel. They would also be closer to the dining, and shopping area. This hotel is in the middle of a swamp pond at least 5-10 minutes from anything. The rooms are VERY small for suites. The small "Queen" beds nearly touch the sofa. Don't pay for the "extras" you might think are here based on the website. It's a Motel 6 atmosphere at a Hilton price. And, that 's not a knock on Motel 6. But just don't expect what you should from an IHG property here. You will be severely disappointed.

A "free" room cost $ and days of callsThe room was nice and clean. However my issue lies with the personnel. I was in town for a business meeting and the company I was meeting with picked up the cost of my room. When I checked in, they required my personal credit card for a $10 incidental charge that would be refunded upon checkout. When I checked out the following day, I mentioned the room was to go on the company account. They charged my personal card 81.20 anyway. I called to clarify and they said they would reverse the charges. Fast forward a couple days and they refunded me 80.00 and recharged my card 91.20. When I called, the lady that answered said they can only refund the amount of the stay, so I ended up paying tax on a room I wasn't supposed to be charged for. Fine, it's just over a dollar. She then said the 91.20 charge was just a reauthorization and would be released back into my account in 3 to 5 business days. Okay. A few days later, I checked my account and they had removed the 81.20 charge, not the 91.20 charge. So I've now paid 11.20 for a free room. At this point, I am sick of trying to chase down my own money. I've considered it a wash at this point, but am sincerely upset by how unprofessional the staff is. How a company charges incorrectly and refunds incorrectly after I have called and followed up twice now is beyond me. I have passed along word of the mishandling by this hotel to the company I met with and they are reconsidering lodging options in the future. I will never stay here again

Good enough, not spectacularFor what you'd expect out of a typical Staybridge Suites, this fell a little flat, though it was by no means horrible. The shower water pressure was disappointingly low. The room itself, while clean enough, had a fishy odor. Also, the linens and pillows were just a bit stingy. I remember the front desk staff was nice, though.

Clean with excellent serviceThis hotel is clean and new inside and has terrific service. I would highly recommend. Staff is great, food is great and they served a hot breakfast. They had a social hour a few nights a week that had appetizers. Perfect for a business traveler.
