Great stayI arrived Monday night in a snow storm. Uber delivered me safely and I had a quick and easy check in. Even though I arrived at 7:30 I was still able to partake in the evening event. What a great surprise. My room was typical and had 3 mugs for my hot tea so I didnt have to wash dishes daily. Everyone was helpful, but Elise went out of her way to get me a carafe for the coffee pot in my room. The valet Harvey was helpful to my cousin and his wife who came to take me for dinner one night. I would definitely stay here again.

Great LocationOverall, this hotel is decent, and the location is ideal if you're wanting to be in the downtown area. The front desk agents are pleasant and helpful. However, I'm not sure what the guy at the front door does, who I'm assuming is the bell man or maybe the valet, because he never spoke and he never smiled. The rooms are cute, well-designed, and functional. Could do a better job on the cleaning though. My coffee maker was full of the last guest's coffee (grinds included) and only half a bottle of dish washing soap. Not a big deal, but for almost $300/night, one would expect a little more effort.

Rude and Condescending ManagerMy elderly aunt who is nearly 80 years old was staying in a room that reeked of cigarette smoke to the point where her eyes, nose, and throat were burning. I complained on Sunday morning to the manager, Megan Counts or Counchs, who said she would go check. My aunt told me that no one ever came to check the room. I called the hotel to complain only to get Megan on the phone--she said she didn't go to the room but only went to the floor that my aunt was on and did not smell anything. I asked if I could speak with another manager and she sarcastically said "well I'm Megan, I'm the only manager here, how can I assist you?" She then asked if I wished to file a complaint with IHG and then I said yes and she gave me the IHG corporate number. I told her that she is very rude although she is in the hospitality industry. I had to file a complaint with IHG and told them about Megan's rude behavior and that she would have been liable for my aunt if anything happened because she NEGLECTED to go and check the room but simply smelled from the elevator.

Oh no, please don't goI wish the things I was about to say were a joke and that this was some sort of fake news review...but sadly, this is all 100% true. We arrived at this hotel on a Friday afternoon. The first thing we noticed was the incredible difficulty in which one has to maneuver around the streets in order to get to the front entrance of the hotel, and it's totally lacking signage to direct you where to go. Upon arrival, there is very limited parking and no loading zones for guests checking in to park. They have a valet booth, but no one working it, so no help there. After dealing with the parking fiasco and finally figuring out where to park on our own the hotel tried to charge us, in excess of, $20 per day for parking in a lot that clearly states $8/day maximum. Our room was fine, just fine, nothing fancy, except the TV (we couldn't figure out how to work it). On our second day when we left our room we placed one of the magnets on the door frame that read "Shhhh, catching some zzzs" implying that we did not want anyone entering our room for any reason. However, cleaning staff came in anyway!!! The hotel seriously cuts corners on its "covid safe grab n go breakfast." I requested the everything bagel. I received a carb heavy bag with a muffin, a oatmeal bar and an everything bagel with...strawberry cream cheese. And my bagel wasn't even cut. There was no access to a toaster downstairs or utensils, so it wasn't very grab and go-ish. Also, I'm pretty sure they could figure out another option for this without sacrificing so much. This was an awful breakfast. Now, let's talk about the staff. How does one explain such subtle, condescending and...I just don't care if you're happy attitude. That's how it felt the entire time. And it was so sad, because there was one staff member that I thought did great, until the issue of parking came up, and then she blew it, too. They just lack an attitude of "you are the customer, and I want you to be happy." If you need a place to stay. Fine, they have beds. But, If you want to make sure you aren't nickel and dimed and you have actual privacy and you enjoy being treated with respect, because you know you're spending your money there...well, go somewhere else.

Rude, condescending managerThe hotel management should note some of the comments the hotel manager made during my conversation with her this morning: 1) Don't you read all the terms and conditions before you make a hotel booking? 2) Don't you read all the terms and conditions before you buy a car? 3) I don't need a loyalty lecture from you. 4) We are not the airlines. 5) We can have this conversation for another 45 mins, and it won't go anywhere. 6) I have to deal with 100 such issues. 7) Several other phones are waiting for me. Here are the details: I had to cancel my reservation because the international conference I was attending (American Physical Society) got canceled at the last minute due to concern over coronavirus. The conference is attended by over 10,000 people and the cancelation was unprecedented. My booking was from March 1-6 along with three of my graduate students. I called the hotel to ask about the refund, and the manager refused straight away because it was an advanced sale purchase and non-refundable. I asked her to consider my request given the exceptional nature of the circumstances (this is not bad-weather related cancelation), and other hotels and airlines do make exceptions on a case-by-case basis, but she kept insisting that I should have read the terms and condition before making the purchase. I even asked if my reservation can be postponed to a later date. Her answer was always NO in a very rude and condescending manner as if I was wasting her time. I understand that she is doing her job and was sticking to the hotel policy in the strictest possible sense, but the lack of empathy from someone who's responsibility is customer care and interaction is extremely bad for the hotel. When I said that I would make another visit to Denver this year and would like to come back as a customer, she said I dont need a loyalty lecture from you Of course, I dont expect anything back, but the upper management should take note.
