  Old, run down un-inviting

  Booking.com, rates this place 4 stars. The price was great for our purposes so we went ahead with the booking. Upon payment confirmation advice of the building being renovated was given, this was fine and the building works did not affect our stay at all. We arrived in Wellington early, I wanted to have a chat to the receptionist but no one was in the locked office nor did they answer the provided phone number. The cleaners were super kind and gave us access to a loo, however when the office lady returned she made me feel like a naughty child. She was rude, abrupt and aggressive in telling me that I was too early to check in. I just wanted to ask if they had a "leave baggage facility". Our apartment felt like it was in the basement, and it actually had the cleaning and some other room coming off of our main entrance. Nothing I've ever experienced before. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was limited to lukewarm water so we were unable to warm up with hot showers. All in all, you get what you pay for. But the 4 stars on booking.com are not an honest reflection.

  Don't expect much, just below the average

  The apartment was correct but some things were a bit old such as the sofa and not very tidy. The cleaning service is not an asset as I have the feeling they do not clean the room every day, they just put towels and empty the bin and the smell of the corridor at eating times is quite hard. There are works going on just in front of the window and the service was a bit poor because the reception has tight schedules. The hotel is good located, close to government institutions but the city center is not next door. A part from that, they have a gym key that has to be shared among the guests. Finally, the Wi-Fi was not working extremely well, it was disconnecting quite often and you only get it for one week. Fortunately, the owner is very kind and helpful.

  Absolutely shocking: Not 4 stars!

  Read the reviews on this one before you book anything. Stayed here in x2 tiny 1 bedroom apts for 1 night in March 2020. Horribly unclean. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher and hair in the shower, we were completely taken aback! The office staff were extraordinarily rude when approached (borderline aggressive). From reading the responses on reviews here I am guessing the same people deal with Trip Advisor reviews. Bad wifi. The only redeeming feature is the central location - however there are centrally located hotels and complexes that aren't tricking their customers by advertising as "four stars". Steer clear of this place.

  I stayed at St Pauls for 2.5 weeks after moving from Auckland. It was a stressful period, looking for long-term accommodation while continuing to meet work deadlines. My apartment at St Pauls was a haven a lovely outlook, pleasantly furnished and with all the amenities I needed, including perfectly functioning WiFi! Staff were helpful and friendly, even when I left belongings behind at the end of my stay! The location is great. There is easy access to a supermarket, transport and a variety of attractions. The hospitality industry has been the worst affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and Stay at St Pauls is a small company. Despite this, and the setbacks of lengthy remedial work on the building, standards are high and the service excellent. Diane

  DO NOT STAY HERE

  DO NOT VISIT! Room was ok, presentable not the greatest. (Glasses had lipstick on them, shower door almost of its hinges, red stain on pillow looked like blood, this is all later end of covid) Not a major by any means as my stay was only matter of hours, however thought i would let management know. Well was i in for a surprise, the manager Aaron is a real piece of work, defensive, rude, cynical and showed terrible service. Following his approach to my contact and several emails later asked for the cost of my room back due to his service. then his insults started getting really personal. anyone wants to see the emails let me know.
