Sympathetic modernisation of a wonderful traditional buildingStayed here in a superior double room for 1 night and was pleasantly surprised with the level of refurbishment, the room was overly spacious with a generous bathroom with nice fixtures and fittings and mostly importantly a comfy bed! Had a nice view of the river too. Always found a parking space at the rear despite it being a rather small carpark and you can access the hotel from teh rear as well so easier for bringing in your bags. The only downside is the sash windows, they let an awful lot of draft through but it's to be expected with such an old building and we have passed our feedback on to reception about perhaps putting a bit of draft proofing on them particularly as the window is right next to the bed. Would definitely stay again!

Barstaffcame into the star hotel on Wednesday for a meal at night with my partner to be served by far the rudest person i have ever came across in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!! a ginger women behind the bar when my wife asked for a irish coffee the answer was ok but it will take a while as i will have to get the double cream from upstairs unless you have something else saves me the trouble of going upstairs!!!!!!!! HOW RUDE.. to then we order our meal as we get told to pay as we go as they don't allow tabs to be run when there is a man at the bar drinking and drinking and not once paid for the tab service was terrible after our meal arrived meal was delicious however we asked for some ketchup and mayo and we then get told yes its down there to your right by the door???? surely they have to bring it to us we come here very often for lunch and there's always a lovely forgin lady that serves us with a good attitude weatther shes busy or not. However i will not come back for an evening meal ever again very disappointing

Very friendly staff in a unique hotelHighlight of our stay was how friendly the staff were and how well looked after we felt. They went the extra mile mile to make sure everything was as good as it could be, particularly the bar and restaurant staff. The hotel itself has been refurbished very nicely, in keeping with the building which is interesting and unique - it creates a great atmosphere and intreague when walking around and relaxing in the bar or lounge. Food in the restaurant was also excellent, both dinner and breakfast. We had a king river view room which was great - very spacious and comfortable. Only downside - it can be a bit drafty and noisy from the road, but given the age of the building and windows, that can't really be helped. Overall, highly recommend!

Superb MealAlthough living nearby this is the first time been here for a meal in the restaurant must admit from the starter all the way through to the sweet the food was fabulous so tasty and well presented. The restaurant has been modernised and decorated to a lovely standard with a nice ambience. Waitress was attentive and pleasant all in all a lovely evening. The only negative was we were the only ones there which is a pity hope the people of Yarmouth will support this place or we will loose it. I will definitely return!
