Not what it seems, beware! The word 'boutique' has no place in the description of this place, it is frankly, a dump. The communal areas are dirty, need paint, have worn carpets and haven't been cleaned for an age. The room was ok - nothing more and on the glass door into the bathroom, there were handprints and splashes of god knows what. The pub itself is grimy and needs a complete clean. This is simply a glorified pub with a cheap 'do up' job done on it and subsequently marketed as a boutique option. The restaurant is ok but the clue is the plastic bottles of ketchup, mustard etc that get plonked on your table. Service was a curates egg but one previous reviewer is spot on - the breakfast service is nothing short of furious - the kitchen swing door gets punched with sheer fury every time anyone storms through it bearing plates of food. The wine in the restaurant was appalling and tasted as if the bottle had been opened in 1974. depressing to be honest.

Couples GetawayMe and my boyfriend had booked this hotel over a month ago, and decided to go with the most expensive room due to not being able to go on holiday this year for obvious reasons. We was meeting friends in the cotsworlds and also not too far from them, so this seemed to be the perfect stay. Automatically the woodland theme, attracted me straight away (massive animal lover here!). We had room 11, and we was not disappointed. The room looked exactly as it did on the website, with beautiful decor and cosy themed. The standing bath was amazing touch, a massive bed and quirky elements of the room. No complaints here as the room was beautiful!! The facilities were great, the shower was powerful and very warm. The standing bath was amazing (best feature of the room) and we both had a great nice sleep. Unfortunately, there was only one downfall to our stay, which was our breakfast experience. We had booked our time for our breakfast the day before and we was on time. We was greeted by one lady, in which was nice and swiftly took our drinks order. She arrived back within seconds and we had our drinks, but another lady who then came over asked to take our order. I asked for a couple more minutes due to being sat down for no longer than 5 minutes, I did not read the whole menu. Her response was we are on a time limit so you need to hurry and decide and walked off in a fluster. This ruined the whole breakfast experience for me. I felt then I needed to rush, and I swiftly made a decision. When the food came out it was very lovely, even though my boyfriends sausage was quite hard which you could tell it had been sitting under a heat lamp. Anyways, we still ate the meal and it was delicious. I could tell the same waitress was also rude to other staff due to the atmosphere and also the rushing around was not needed. I believe if we was told we had a certain amount of time, customers could view the menu beforehand and make a decision. We did not have any dinner the night before due to being out with friends. So I am unable to comment on how this food and service would of went. Overall, the hotel and room was amazing and I have no faults here. I just would of liked a bit more comfort at my breakfast due to the amount of money I paid for our room. I still would return, in the hope that staff are rested and also happier. Still a lovely cosy getaway!!

a terrible experienceI can only believe that anyone who comments on the hotel positively cannot have stayed in the Inn rooms or had any interaction with the owner or lady in charge at breakfast. Sadly i cannot fit my whole experience into tripadvisor so i will summarise. The Pub part of the hotel is tired, looks better by candlelight so you cannot see everything. Food, mediocre. We, even as residents were only allowed to sit at a table if we ordered food. £6 for a sandwich made of value bread was not good value for money or particularly tasty. The room (Fallow) was grubby, cold due to a broken window and contained broken furniture, peeling walls and the most uncomfortable bed I have every encountered. The stairway and hall to the room were dusty and everywhere just needed a good scrub. We were welcomed by dead flies in the bathroom too. The breakfast experience was awful. The most rude lady shouted at us for being early even though we were only walking to speak to a manager not go for breakfast. She then proceeded at our breakfast time to slam bottles on tables and speak to people as if she had no manners at all. At one point she was so angry in her manner, I asked her colleague if we had upset the woman for her to treat us that way. Apparently not, it is her normal behaviour. We had complained shortly after arriving about the state of the room, the owner couldn't move us and asked what I wanted him to do, no apology, he simply didn't care. Not the greatest attitude to have in hospitality. We didn't want to stay after the first night because we felt so uncomfortable in the room and the breakfast experience was so shocking. We checked out and asked to speak with any of the managers to get a refund but they refused to help stating the owner, Mark would call us. He never did. We booked into another hotel and enjoyed a clean room and comfortable bed. We wrote a formal complaint and over two weeks later still have no reply so my bank are now disputing the payment for me. I worked in the travel industry for over 20 years, including as a site inspector. This is not as described, the website is misleading and the staff are utterly disgraceful. The worst experience I have ever had at a hotel.
