  Hotel Stadt Berln

  This hotel is a 3-star and as such you can expect some things are not perfect. The location is walking distance to the train station (10 minutes) and is 15 minutes to the beach. It is located on the main (loud) street but also at a small park on one side with some rooms (mine) having nice large balconies. It is clean, friendly, excellent service and convenient. It is mostly suited for older travelers. I saw no children for example. The breakfast is ok but could be better. The dinner menu is good, and the "Ostsee Dorch" / Baltic cod was the best I had in Heringsdorf and is reasonably priced for a hotel. I paid 50 for dinner for 2 with a bottle of wine (which was 18 of that price) There is no refrigerator or AC in the room. I would stay here again but I will also look for cheaper places though I only paid 300 for 3 nights over a holiday weekend which was cheap. But there are many private rooms and small pensions which may be cheaper..

  Unpretentious 3 star hotel

  Hotel is centrally located, 5 min from train station, 10 min from beach (on foot); don't expect all mod cons, but it is perfectly adequate, with quiet, very clean rooms, a good wholesome evening menu and very friendly staff. Prices are appropriate - eminently affordable (dinner for two with an open wine came to 36).

  Extremely rude and unwelcoming

  We arrived at the hotel and were spoken to extremely rudely by the reception staff. The hotel clearly did not welcome guests with foreign passports despite us living and working in Berlin. After several inappropriate questions we decided to leave and stay elsewhere as we did not feel comfortable staying here. If the hotel does NOT want people without German passports staying at their hotel they should state this on their website. The rudest establishment I have ever encountered. Please change your attitude and welcoming towards guests.
