  Too much like a hospital

  This hotel is mainly the hospital for St. Olav Hospital in Trondheim. And as such it,s really ok. My stay was waiting for an operation, and then the hotel was more than good enhough. Nice food, nice reception and nothing to complain about. But well.....if I was a tourist to Trondheim....I would have gone elsewhere. That is if you don't look for a hopital hotel :-) The rooms are ok, but you get the feeling of being at a hospital more than I would have liked being the tourist or even for a business trip.....

  Expensive hospital hotel

  The hotel is in walking distance from town, but not very Central. Linked to the hospital area, but run by the Norlandia Chain, you get a bit of a hospital feel, but clean and light room. However, NOK 1.700,- is a bit steep for one night. You can do better. (however, sells out fast in Trondheim)

  A Unique Hotel Experience

  Stayed there with my son for 2 nights as he is starting a 9 month placement in the city and wanted to check the town out before arriving in August. The location for us was ideal. 10 minute walk to the city centre and 10 minutes or so in the other direction to his placement. The airport bus stops with 50 yards or so, although that is equally true for many of the hotels. St Olavs as stated does appear to be an extension of the hospital. There appeared to be more patients than guests which gave a strange feeling to the place. That said the rooms and hotel very clean. Staff very professional and friendly. THe evening meal finished at 5pm which seemed a little early. Breakfast 7am so didn't impact on the day. The choice on offer very good. Highly recommend the hotel would stay here again.
