Great B&B, Friendly HostessVery nice B&B, our second one, this was much nicer, (first was a townhouse in a large town). Floors, ceilings, windows, doors, etc., all much better condition. But the hostess, Mary, was much more friendly than our first host in the prior location. She served us coffee and biscuits on arrival, recommended some places to eat in Sligo and gladly customized our breakfast making me American pancakes as I get sick from eggs. Would love to stay here again.

Awful Experience Don't Come if You're BlackWe got to Mary's place and she called me by my last name. She said "hello nice to meet you" offered us tea, showed us to our room and immediately asked what time we wanted breakfast. We JUST got there and she just wanted to get the logistics out of the way instead of conversing with us then she disappeared immediately. She didn't suggest any places to eat, never asked where we came from or what are plans were, she wasn't friendly like these other reviews suggested. We got tea and that was it. We waited around 20 minutes (because we had no idea where she was) so I could ask her about the Sligo museum and when I finally did she was talking to me with the door half closed and it's as if she couldn't get away soon enough. She never smiled and we didn't feel welcomed in her home. I was so excited to experience what it's like to do a B&B and experience Irish hospitality and Mary had no interest in us. She was our first B&B experience in Ireland and our first interaction so that really upset me. We knew she was not a fair representation of Ireland. There is no other reason why she would act this way except for me being BLACK or because my husband is WHITE and we're in an interracial marriage. Every other B&B we went to was amazing and made us feel so welcomed. I told other people in Ireland how Mary treated us and they were in SHOCK. The only good thing she offered was a clean room and delicious breakfast. She made things really awkward and uncomfortable for us. Please believe I will tell everyone NOT to go to this B&B. It wasn't eveb my first choice but the other B&B needed to cancel. So thank you Mary for your poor treatment of me and my husband.

Excellent B&B, perfect hostess, great location!I spent one week at Mary's and had a wonderful experience. I was welcomed warmly upon arrival, shown to a lovely room ensuite and had a perfect stay. Every morning began with whatever i wanted for breakfast, served promptly at the time we established, and friendly conversation. Mary was immensely helpful to my search for ancestors, and it couldn't have turned out better that i found records 20 minutes away. Mary offered suggestions of what to see in the area, restaurants I would enjoy, she was the perfect hostess/tour guide/proprietor anyone could ask for. I simply could not have found a better, more comfortable place to stay. And I was sorry to leave! Thank you, Mary, for an absolutely wonderful, lovely week.

Very nice! The host greeted us as we arrived and was very pleasant. She made sure everything was ok with our room and asked what time we would like breakfast. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The stay was quiet and location was close to the city center. There was a book in the room with recommendations on where to eat and things to do. We stayed at 13 B&B's for the duration of our trip and every single one of them served the typical Irish breakfast, this one was the best!

Let us rest and took care of the rest! The largest room we had during our week stay in Ireland and six different B&Bs! We had contacted host a few weeks prior asking if it would be possible to get a load of laundry done and she was more than welcome to do that for us. She showed us our room right away and then left us to settle in, which we appreciated after a long day of traveling and wanting to sit down and relax. She told us to just put our laundry outside the door and it would be done in morning, and it was! She had it all folded nicely and returned to us. So wonderful! Best shower we had the entire trip as well.
