  Decepcionante

  El St. George's Bay Country Club tiene su principal baza en la oferta de tranquilidad de sus instalaciones. Pero hay que tener cuidado en la reserva de las habitaciones. A nuestra llegada al hotel nos fue asignada una junior suite en una planta baja, de características similares a las que figuran en la web del establecimiento. Al entrar en la habitación nos encontramos con un fuerte y desagradable olor a humedad. Al abrir las camas, comprobamos que esa sensación térmica estaba también en las sábanas, que parecían mojadas. Como a nuestra llegada al hotel la recepción estaba cerrada, no fue hasta el día siguiente cuando informamos de la situación de la habitación, que no pareció sorprender en absoluto a los responsables del hotel. De hecho, nos confirmaron que el olor a humedad era habitual en las habitaciones de las plantas bajas. Por este motivo, nos cambiaron a una habitación en una primera planta, de la que aporto algunas imágenes. Esta estancia, notablemente más obsoleta, ya no tenía dos camas individuales, como aparece la junior suite en la foto de web del hotel, sino una doble. Además, el baño necesitaba de una renovación urgente. Por este motivo, si deciden viajar a Acharavi y contratar este hotel, será mejor que comprueben antes de la entrada qué habitación les ha sido asignada, si corresponde a lo que previamente han reservado o se arriesgarán a que les adjudiquen algo de calidad inferior.

  Unique oasis on busy island

  We were a late booking so couldn't get one of the best cottages/apartments..but even so it was just a wonderful and unique place. This beautfully kept peaceful hotel really is in the manner of the "country clubs" of old; with flower bordered walkways and a lovely stone clubhouse with outside arched sitting area overlooking the enormous pool surrounded by wide meticulously kept gardens and grassed lawns. Lots of sun beds and seats under the shade of trees (one afternoon we had cake and tea here and it was almost like a scene from Out of Africa). Yet a short walk behind the restaurant and there was the quiet beach with a warm sea and great swimming. A bit of shingle on the waterline which could be cleared (hotel take note!) but before and beyond that it is clear sand. Of course you are paying a bit of a premium, so we walked 100 yards along the coast and usually had evening dinner in the various local restaurants to save money. But for a few peaceful days in a glorious setting, this would be hard to beat.

  Earthly Paradise!!!!

  Amasing ambient, excellent service and convenience, flawless professionalism, generous hospitality!!! The beauty of the place is unbelievable.... Like a fairytale held in paradise!!! The english-atmosphere bar and the surroundings, the loyalty of the barman and his decent attitude transfer the visitor into another age. Grateful for spending my vacation time with these marvelous people.Many thanks to all of them . Morfoula, August 2017

  Apathetic mgmt, great staff

  Stayed a week. Listing has misleading wording of wifi available in public places. Truth is, its available in one building and is painfully slow. Barely 1 mbps, when I could get a reading. Wasted loads of money roaming. Perhaps a router pkg should be offered, or at the very least help offered in acquiring local SIMs. Only positives were the staff, whose standout star was the head groundskeeper/maintenance man. He was a treasure. Breakfast was good, great staff there as well. Doubtful Ill be here again.

  The peace and quiet we needed

  If you want a rest this hotel is for you. The best stretch of beach and a lovely swimming pool. We had a lovely suite which was perfectly clean and loved the fresh, crisp sheets! No young, screaming children or drunken holiday makers. Magrite at reception was amazing helping us with our last minute booking and taxis. Theres something wonderfully efficient about this hotel. It does cater to older guests which we liked. The massages at the spa werent good, we had George and Isabel both seemed to lack any technique or training. Food in the restaurant was good but if you fancy a change walk along the beach and theres plenty of restaurants to chose from. Would definitely come back here and recommend if you want a relaxing beach/pool holiday.
