  UN HOTEL PEQUEÑO HOTEL FAMILIAR

  En un Hotel pequeño, situado a 50 metros del centro de la Ciudad y como la mayoría de los hoteles de esta categoría en Escocia tienes que subir muchas escaleras para llegar a la habitación. Las habitaciones son limpias y cómodas . El hotel estaba llenos de personas mayores que se veía que iban cada año a descansar unos días en este Hotel. El personal un poco deficiente, ya que hablaban poco inglés ( ellos se expresaban en escocés ) y nosotros no dominamos completamente el ingles y a la hora del desayuno, que no es bufet, al pedir la comida nos trajeron solo para tres personas y al reclamar el desayuno que faltaba nos dijeron que no lo habíamos pedido. Fue claramente un malentendido, pero como mínimo deberían habernos preguntado al hacer el pedido si uno no desayunaba, o confirmar el pedido ya que no es muy normal que todos desayunen menos uno.

  Too cramped

  Found the rooms at this location to be very cramped for two travelers with luggage. There were no USB ports to charge devices which was a challenge with two travelers. For North American travelers, you may want to pack a face cloth and hair conditioner because none were provided. Had trouble keeping our window at this location which was a disappointment. There was no breakfast buffet, but rather order upon request. Be specific as to how many eggs, sausages, etc. otherwise you get one of each. The wait staff was too rushed and literally took your utensils away before you were finished with them.

  Charming

  The hotel is small and family owned but that added to the charm of this quaint lodging. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. The rooms were small but the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately, it is not air-conditioned but none of the hotels in Scotland had air-conditioning except a Hilton type hotel. I would stay here again if visiting the area.

  Know what you are getting

  There is no doubt about it-for two people with luggage on a two-week tour, this room is cramped. There is a bed, side tables, and a desk with chair. There is little room for you to open your luggage and no place to really put anything. I will give them a vote of thanks for having an outlet near the bed. When you have a CPAP machine, that is vital. The bath is small and there are no washcloths. However, the provided toiletries that are in large, attached bottles smell terrific. The food was fine, but the desserts were not much to talk about. There are stairs and no lift, but there are evidently a couple of ground floor rooms.

  An adequate place for a 1 night stop over, prior to boarding early morning ferry to Orkney

  Basic, but clean room in quiet street in Thurso. The evening meal and breakfast was more than adequate and the the hotel staff friendly and helpful. Scrabster where the ferry leaves for Orkney is only a 10 min drive away.
