  best place ever!

  A lovely property, spotlessly clean, excellent quality fittings throughout the property. The property was set with fresh bread butter spreads, snacks and a lovely bottle of wine all waiting to be eaten, we were welcomed by Patrick, who set us up with what to do, where to get fuel, food, very approachable. A very well set out information file is left in the house with everything you need to explore the wonderful island and maybe the surrounding islands. Sitting on the balcony any time of day is the best place to be, breakfast at the "Buccaneer" restaurant is a must, in fact, any time of the day it's good! A great farm shop pointed out in the in house file has excellent steaks we had rump and they melted in our mouths, they have so many tasty goods and drinks, I highly recommend that store. This is a place to visit,first time you will be hooked, we will go back and highly recommend people to try it out!

  Beautiful, unique, well maintained

  We stayed at The Belmont house for a week for our sons wedding. We loved it! Clean, beautiful, comfortable, great staff and well maintained. It was the perfect house for us because the main floor was separate from the bedrooms and quite large for entertaining our family and friends throughout the week. My entire family stayed at various properties in Squires Estates and all the homes were different, beautiful and well maintained. I would highly recommend these homes for your paradise vacation.

  Dream Destination Wedding Venue

  We recently held our wedding at Squires Estate in Governors Harbour and couldnt be happier with the experience. From the venue itself to the accommodations and quality of service provided by and the entire property staff, the whole week was perfection. Context: Our families rented the entire property for the week the 8 houses on Squires Estate and the 3 houses at Squires Landing. From the very beginning, the Squires Estate team made us feel at ease by blocking out our stay while we determined who would stay where (and for how long). They helped us book each house separately, on behalf of our various family members, and prorated each party based on their length of stay. Property: We held all of our wedding events on the property itself which is no small feat, given that we had an Indian-American wedding (many different events). We hosted the henna party at Modern House, where we were able to accommodate all of our guests comfortably with the ground floor doors open to the pool deck. From there, we held the Sangeet (pre-wedding party with music and dance performances by guests) in the backyard of Belmont House. The next morning, we held the traditional Hindu ceremony in the garden area between Stone House and Elisas Cottage and closed the celebration with an evening reception on the deck of Squires Landing. We were thrilled to be the first group to not only use the gorgeous deck overlooking all of Cupids Cay but also to use their new tent. The tent covered half of the deck, leaving room for our guests to mingle in the fresh air. And it absolutely came in handy during a quick but heavy rain shower the night of the reception. The property itself is gorgeous and easy to navigate, with enough room between the houses to provide some privacy. The gardens and landscaping provided a wonderful backdrop to our outdoor events, and we found it impossible to take a bad or unflattering photo on the grounds. Squires Team: For every single one of our events, the Squires team was on hand and in communication with the two of us, our wedding planner, and key family members. They were respectful of our traditional and religious customs and were true team members during the planning phase and wedding week itself. Aside from being friendly, responsive, gracious, and extremely helpful, they also helped us with logistics, introductions, and communication with the customs broker for the items we shipped to the island. Patrick helped set up cribs/pack-and-plays in the family suites with small children (and even purchased extras) and the staff was on hand to help us redistribute the extra food, décor, and misc. items to locals after the wedding. Joy and Dominick at Governors Estate properties were also a pleasure to work with and helped to confirm additional off-site housing (up to the last minute!). Theres no way we could have pulled off such a complex and successful event without the Squires Estate team they are incredible individuals and professionals. If youre in the area for a few days or a for full week of wedding madness, Squires Estate is your best bet. Our advice is to get to know the locals, have a good attitude, and do things the Bahamian way.

  Old Bahamas Charm in Nice Style

  I got home yesterday from a very nice 12-day stay in the Squires Estate Belmont Jr. Cottage. It was located just at the top of the hill from the town of Governor's Harbour. I liked the location - near enough to the town and French Leave Beach, that both were walkable, albeit an energetic walk, but yet quite private from the activity of the town (granted, it's not a large metropolitan area!!) I enjoyed the cottage, the property, and found the caretakers Dom and Joy helpful (and friendly) for the few odds and ends or information I requested. I really enjoyed some quiet time in the mornings on a spacious patio dedicated to the cottage. At least in February, it is mostly in the shade and pleasant. There is also a nice patio and pool, but in the Bahamas, I really only am interested in the ocean, so I didn't use it. While I might choose a slightly larger facility for a stay this long, I would absolutely consider staying in one of units/homes which are part of Squires Estate in the future. While I didn't see inside other places, judging by how tastefully decorated my cottage was, I'm confident they're equally appealing. Mine had nice little extra amenities, like a toaster, fridge, coffee maker, and tea kettle. I just would have preferred a little more sitting area and a regular kitchen so as to be able to cook a few more of my meals. There was a house binder/guide which was very helpful for finding restaurants, beaches and shopping. I wanted to visit Lighthouse Point, which was a long drive, culminating in a very rough dirt road, and I was really grateful for the provided directions as they proved to be far more accurate than Google Maps was, during the last few miles, which is where it mattered most! Any complaints are what I consider fairly minor - a need for towel racks in the bathroom (a common complaint, almost everywhere it seems), poor location of the toilet paper roll, and a request for sheer curtains so as to have privacy and light at the same time throughout the cottage - but all in all, it's a great property, and if I'm coming back to Eleuthera, I'll definitely keep it in mind.

  Our Best Stay in Eleuthera

  We have been coming to Eleuthera for years and Pyfrom House was by far our favorite vacation rental. We spent a week at Pyfrom house with another couple and we all loved it. It is a beautiful colonial home that has been meticulously restored and has all the modern amenities. The house was spotless and they welcome you with a bottle of wine, snacks, water, nice toiletries. The hosts Patrick, Joy, and Dom are super nice and friendly and helpful in every way possible. We are looking forward to coming back next year and renting one of their properties again. Thank you Patrick, Joy, and Dom for making our stay in Governors Harbour so special.
