  Disappointing.

  I expected more from Springhill. When I arrived the air was not even on. This is NC where weve had 50+ days over 90 degrees. The room smelled musty, not a pleasant first impression. The cockroach that ran across the floor shortly thereafter didnt help either. The sofa in the room had obvious spill marks on it. Stopped by the pool and was plagued by little drain flies. This place really needs improvement. I have to say, staff was pleasant at front desk and breakfast. Bed and bathroom were clean enough.

  Good Service, thin walls

  The customer service here is great. Shout out to the breakfast attendant Jennifer for being so nice and attentive. The bed wasn't all that comfortable. The springs made a lot of noise when rolling over and getting into bed. The room was a little small, but overall good. There could be more outlets near the bed. We stayed on a room with 2 beds that shared 1 nightstand in the middle. I was disappointed that there wasn't room for another nightstand on the other side of either bed. The floors and walls need better sound proofing. Footsteps seemed to echo and we could hear muffled voices and TV's through the walls.

  Poor design for my taste

  The hotel was clean and the staff were fine. The hotel has apparently been updated. Its a modern, sleek design and I felt like our room was almost cell like. There was a sofa, kitchenette and desk. The sleeping area was tight. The bathroom vanity was small. But the worst was the shower. In order to turn on the water, you have to reach inside behind the plexiglass so your arm gets a blast of cold water. Poor design. We were charged for internet, but the clerk removed it when we inquired about it. Apparently, its easy to hit the high speed button. They were very nice about removing the charge.

  Updated hotel but only average

  We were here for 4 nights while moving our daughter into Wake Forest University dorm. The hotel is updated and clean (cleanliness being critical during a Pandemic), but service wasnt what weve become accustomed to at Marriott properties. Check in went smoothly but wasnt with the typical hospitable character experienced at most Marriott properties. The rooms are fairly cramped especially the beds (we had two double beds). The kitchen area had a mini fridge and microwave but was only a small little nook with limited space. The seating and desk area had a bit more space. In lieu of the breakfast buffet, they provided a grab and go bag that contained juice, yogurt, cereal, milk and a blueberry muffin. No fruit choice or coffee but a good quantity of food items. In order to provide deep room cleaning between guests, there isnt any housekeeping for stays less than 5 nights. We were still able to get a few more towels and drinking glasses. Location of the hotel is good and very close to restaurants , shops and gas.

  Deposit too high

  I was charged $250 for a smoking deposit. Ive stayed at many Marriott properties and have never been charged that much for a deposit. Actually Ive never been charged more than a $50 deposit and this was from properties much nicer than this one. I dont see myself ever staying there again.
