This place has gone to the dogs!

Had reservations for 5 nights as we were in town visiting family. First two nights went fine, but we came back to the room at 9:00 pm on the third night (Saturday) and 3 dogs were barking in the room next door to us. I called the front desk to advise and they said they would check it out. Meanwhile 2 more dogs across the hall would bark every time someone went down the hall. When the occupant returned at 11:50 pm (I assume they had been at the nearby casino) they slammed the door and yelled at the dogs - I assume they had torn something up in the room. Was awakened at 2:00 and again at 4:00 am with barking. I've been staying at Marriott properties for 40 years and never had a dog issue before. Sunday morning I talked to the front desk, the manager wasn't in. Their website says they welcome service dogs, but has no mention of pets. They do allow pets for $50. I asked if the dogs were checking out, no luck. They suggested I could move to another room but could not guarantee that a dog wouldn't check in beside us again as they were sold out. I advised them that I would be staying in town to visit family from 10 to 15 nights a year, but that didn't matter. So we checked out and found another property with no pets. Also, traveling during Covid can be somewhat challenging. The sign on the front doors say you have to wear a mask per Louisiana law. However, 2/3 of the guests in the lobby (from 15-20 people) were not wearing masks. Even had a couple get on the elevator with us without a mask. Housekeeping had masks around their necks, but not covering their mouths. We won't be back!

    Horrible hotel.

Run, run, run away from this place. Our entire family from three different states stayed here last weekend for our granddaughters wedding. We had several rooms. No hot water for shower the entire time in one room. Air conditioner so loud it could be heard out into the hall in another room. Worst of all, blood on the spread, mattress pad, wall, curtains, carpet in another of our rooms. All this was brought to management's attention. Each time we were put off and told to tell the person behind the desk who each time said they had only been working there a few days. To hear them, nobody has worked here but a few days except the manager who has been in hotel management 10 years. This manager was extremely rude while the brides father tried to check in not even honoring his rate which he had booked online. No excuse for the way this hotel treats their guests or does not fix problems. No guest should have to endure rooms in the conditions we experienced. If you want a hotel that is clean and associates are not rude stay somewhere else.

    Blood, Bugs,and Bad attitudes

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel. We booked a total of 17 nights over the course of 3 days with multiple families for a wedding. Every single room had a problem, ranging from inconveniences to serious exposure to potential hazardous bodily fluids. First, the hotel had no hot water, which no one was told upon check in. This was never fixed during our stay. Two of our rooms had what appeared like either blood or feces on the sheets and carpets. One room had a roach crawl on the bed and almost into the ear of a baby. The a/c in multiple rooms made a sound like someone torturing cats. Coffee was unavailable two days because the employee on duty had just started and had no idea how to make it. All common areas were filthy. Rooms were filthy. Rates were raised at check in. The pool, while closed, had algae growing everywhere and looked more like a dirty pond. Some people were charged twice for their rooms. Every one of these issues were brought to the attention of the general manager, who did nothing, not even apologize. She was extremely rude and did not care we were all in town for a wedding and really did not need any added stress. We were told the hotel was booked and nothing could be done. She ignored each complaint or passed us off to another employee who had been there less than a week. We were told she would meet with us at 9:00 am on our checkout day, but she had still not come in at 11:00 am, and the employee on duty said she could not address any of our concerns. We have reported this hotel to the state department of health. Hopefully it will be shut down before anyone gets seriously ill staying here. Very dangerous and careless to operate a property in this manner, especially the terrible cleanliness standards during this time when cleaning is of the utmost importance.

    Health Hazard

Do not ever even get close to this place. Look at my pics for proof. Walked into the room to find the sheets covered in blood along with the carpet. The lamp shades had bugs on them. The pool looked like it was more of an indoor fish pond. The manger or lack of kept avoiding us and would only change our sheets not even offer another room. Then had the nerve to expect me to pay for the room. My sister had no hot water in her room and had to shower in my bio hazard room all weekend. If I could get the health dept to close it I would and trust me I tried. Marriott should be ashamed to associate with this place. Oh yeah and I didnt even get my points

Run fast and far! This place is a danger to your health!

This hotel is terrible. It is a health hazard and the manager Keitha is in the wrong business. All of our concerns were brought to her and she as not concerned about any of them. We were in town for a wedding and our family had several rooms rented. One of our rooms looked like a crime scene. There was blood on the sheets, mattress pad, wall, floor, and throughout. This was brought to management's attention and they thought it would be okay to just change the sheets and that everything else would be fine. Another room had an air conditioner that sounded like a freight train all night and several of our rooms had no hot water the entire stay. Management was not concerned at all that half of the hotel guests had no hot water. Apparently the hotel knew the hot water was not working in half of the rooms yet they did not tell us this when we checked in. Had we been informed of this ahead of time we could have chosen to pay good money to stay somewhere we could actually take a hot shower. Please do not make the same mistake we did. Run fast and far from this hotel. Considering the pandemic we are in and the fact that this hotel was not concerned with cleanliness or sanitation it should not be allowed to operate. Stay at your own risk!
