  Great stay on business

  I was here for 3 days on business and chose this hotel because of the vicinity to my office and my regular hotel was full. This is by far not a 5 star hotel but the service that I received made it feel like I was in 5 star property. From check-in to the mini tour of the facilities it was very impressive. Breakfast is decent but free so not many complaints here as it was hot and not your typical continental style. I would recommend maintenance come back through the rooms and correct some of the renovations they clearly have done. Overall a great stay and I would come back

  Our mother became ill in the lobby. Danielle, esmerala and staff were so kind and helped clean her up and comforted her. They made our entire stay very special. Room itself was quite comfortable also but the human interaction was exceptional

  Great stay

  We stopped here on our way to Florida, we had a wonderful time. Our handicapped room had two dbl beds and had plenty of room. Bathroom had a tub with grab rails. Room had a couch and desk. Breakfast was ok nothing special. There was an indoor pool and a small exercise room. Plenty of parking. Front staff were friendly and accommodating. There is plenty of restaurants nearby. Glad we stayed here.

  Very disappointed with our stay

  Thin walls, could hear kids running around in the room above us well into the night. TV signal would fade in and out, no TV guide in the room or on the remote. Hair on the sheets when we arrived, I sure hope they were clean :( Only one wash rag and 2 towels in the room. Ive stayed in a super 8 that was much nicer than this place. I thought Marriot was supposed to be a higher end chain? Would not recommend anyone to stay here.

  Room 214 BED BUG INFESTATION

  Upon checking into the hotel at first glance we were very pleased. There was a soccer team enjoying a team meal in the lobby and it was actually nice to see some of normalcy. The front desk was unattended so I meandered to the door to get the attention of the clerk. I was checked in and my son and I went to our room. I too settled in and jumped into the shower. After getting in the shower I quickly found out that there was no body wash and shampoo in the containers provided inside the shower. After getting dressed for bed I noticed a black thing on my pillow. I grabbed my glasses and phone to shine light on it and realized it was crawling. I took picture and video and immediately started making up mine and my sons items. I went downstairs and expressed my concern and wanting to leave the property. The clerk at the front desk told me he would comp my room at this point. He then proceeded to tell me that he could change my room all together. I explained at this point that I had no intentions on staying in a hotel that had visible known bed bugs. I explained that I wanted to be moved to a different hotel in close proximity to the one we were currently at. He made a call and sent me to the Springhill Suites Glen Allen on Brook Rd. This was actually 20 min away and 40 min away from the destination I had to be at the following morning at 7am. Upon arrival at the new hotel the staff was very pleasant. I explained why I transferred and showed the picture and the video of the bed bug. The clerk made no mention of why he was sending me over and the young lady who checked me in stated that he even abruptly hung up on her. I then found out that my room was not in fact compensated and that the rates for this hotel were significantly higher. I was beyond mortified. Here I am a mom traveling with a 12 year old son for an event that he has to be at in the morning at 7am. 40 min away, mind you, and it past 11 pm. I travel for travel sporting events roughly 1-2 times a month (August - May) and have been doing so for the past 7 year. This has been the worst experience not only in that time but out out of my whole adult life. This franchise should be ashamed of themselves. The letter that I received from the General Manager was distasteful and lacked empathy to say the least. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AT ALL.
