Disappointed in Marriott and will not stay here againWe traveled to Butler, PA for a family members funeral in August. Being a Gold Elite with Marriott, I booked the Springhill Suites for my family. I was appalled at the lack of cleaning at this hotel. Marriott's website states that there are disinfecting wipes in rooms. There were no wipes in our room. Also, I had to go to front desk and ask for toilet tissue and kleenex. Unacceptable! I understand that rooms aren't being cleaned during a stay due to Covid19 , but I don't think this hotel does much cleaning between stays either. If so, why wasn't the empty tissue replaced? We also had to ask to have the extra blanket in the closet for the trundle bed to be replaced. It certainly smelled like it had already been used. I will say that most of the front desk employees were friendly and apologetic. I have never been so disappointed in a Marriott property. Will never stay at this hotel again.

Better Customer Service neededAs being in the travel/hospitality business for over 40 years, and being a lifetime titanium elite member of Marriott Bonvoy, the way I was talked to at check in was unacceptable. I was part of a small group checking in on a Thursday for a long weekend of golf in the area. When checking in on my app I put down checking in at 1030am. I know in normal times (pre covid), early check in is never guaranteed, however since hotels are running at best between 30-40% occupancy during the middle of the week this shouldn't be an issue. I arrived at 1045a and kindly asked to check in. At that time I believe the GM said, you know check in is not until 3:00p, and check out is 12:00n, we need to have time to clean the rooms. This was said twice. After checking the computer, she said that she had a few rooms available, I said thank you and also informed her that a second person would be arriving soon for his room. At that point she said she didn't have another room available. At that point our friends put their luggage in my room and off we went to play golf. There were a few other minor issues, however to start off the stay with this was unpleasant. If it wasn't for the location, I would of check out of the hotel after the 1st night. The hotel did get busier over the weekend, but at no point did all 76 rooms were being used.

Family timeVery nice hotel. Staff super friendly. With the covid virus they were very cautious. Hand sanitizer was by every elevator and the front door. Staff were gloves when handing items to people. Room was clean.

Customer service? Not here...Let em start with the pro's. This place is new and VERY clean. The room layout is different than your standard hotel and was very nice and allowed to work and relax. The challenges here include the level of service. The reception at check-in was cold. No big deal. We had two rooms and they "accidentally" billed each room for parking even though we only had one car. I inquired and it was removed but it was with a huff and a puff. My apologies for asking for such a monumental task. Last, and keep in kind that I have already stayed over 20 nights in hotels in 2021 so I am very aware of COVID and that offerings aren't the same. At check-in, the front desk shared that breakfast was available between 7:00-9:00. Breakfast consisted of a packet of oatmeal tucked at the back of the counter. No worries but no need to sell something that doesn't really exist. I will probably opt for the Fairfield Inn next time I am in Butler.

Customer service - NEVERI was scheduled to stay at this property on 11/18/20. I was in the area on business but on 11/17/20 the governor of PA officially shut the state down because of the Covid 19 virus. Consequently, my business meetings were all cancelled for the remainder of the week. My travel agent called all service providers to make the necessary changes. Everything went fine until they contacted the Springhill Suites, the travel agent was informed that because it was a prepaid room they would not refund the $98. Even though it was a virus related cancellation. I have tried for almost 3 months to get this taken care of, I even told them I would pay the $98 if they would supply me with a receipt. They refused to submit a receipt for this non-stay. Bottom line, what a MISERABLE experience, will never book there again and an pretty sure this 4 year Gold member will be staying exclusively at Hilton properties from now on.
