    Update to my Past Review - No Longer Recommend

    I stayed here in August 2020. This was probably my 4th or 5th stay at this hotel. In the past, the hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful and nice. After this last stay, I will not plan to stay there again. It was awful. I stayed there for 5 nights, 6 days, and if I did not have a prepaid reservation, I probably would have left. I still almost left, but it was too much of a hassle to move all of our stuff because we were traveling with all of my son's college stuff because he was moving into this dorm. First off, the hotel has taken a major turn for the worst since I last stayed there in December 2019. I understand there is a global pandemic going on, but I was appalled at the state of the hotel. It was dirty and dingy and a lot of things that were wrong with it were cleanliness issues. There were stains all over the carpet, the countertops (in rooms and public areas) were sticky and stained,and there was garbage everywhere. In my room, the couch was filthy and I didn't even want to sit on it. We used towels to lay over it so we could use the couch. I couldn't believe it. The elevator groaned terribly and the certificate was expired. The elevator was downright scary. Also, in spite of a statewide mandate that masks are required to be worn, the ONLY employee that consistently wore their mask was the breakfast lady (the Hispanic woman that did the breakfast during the week). Literally every other employee would not wear a mask. Many of them didn't even pretend to be wearing a mask and didn't even have them around their necks or pulled down. It was ridiculous. We had several issues during our stay, reported all of them, and none of the staff helped us except Aleeyah (not sure on the spelling of her name, but she was the only one that was helpful). When I first got there, the WiFi was not working in my room, and I needed to get work done. I reported the issue and was told, "My WiFi is working just fine," and the lady walked away. Nothing else was done or even asked if it was fixed. I had to use my personal hotspot on my phone to do my work. This wouldn't have been a terribly big deal if everything else that went wrong was taken care of. On the 2nd day of our stay, we started having problems with our toilet. As I was walking town to report it to the front desk, the ice machine was making a crazy loud buzzing noise. When I got to the front desk, I reported my toilet and also mentioned that the ice machine was making noise. The response I got from the young man at the desk was, "I just got here," followed by an eye roll. He then walked away. Our toilet was never fixed and my college-aged son actually had to work on it because they never sent anyone to help us so we could use our toilet. Even though we were there 5 days, we never got housekeeping service. The new hotel policy because of COVID is you are supposed to get service after 3 days. On our 4th day, I asked if we could have service because our room was dirty and we needed towels. We did not get service that day. I went down to ask why we didn't get service and was assured they would come and clean our room, but they never did. I went that night to get my own refill of towels and amenities from the front desk. I was told again that they would send someone to clean our room the next day, even though we only had one day left. The next day, housekeeping was on our floor and none of the 4 housekeepers we saw was wearing a mask, and they were going in and out of rooms. I ended up putting the Do Not Disturb sign on my door, because I would rather have a dirty room than someone come in without a mask after being all over the place without a mask. I totallly understand why they do not offer daily service because of the pandemic, but it seems to me more like a ploy to offer less service to your customers rather than an actual safety measure if you aren't enforcing the state mandated safety measures. The last day we were there, on the weekend, breakfast was basically non-existent. I went down to get food and there was nothing available. When I asked the young man at the desk, the eye roller from earlier in the week, he made a big show of getting the stuff, slamming down the food and coffee and only putting out a few items. I wasn't the only one there, but I was the person to ask him to refill it. I was just appalled at his attitude of providing service. I am sorry he had to come out of the office and put his phone down for 30 seconds to give coffee and cream cheese to paying customers. It's a good thing we didn't ask for anything more extensive or he may have had to actually put his mask on. We had a TV issue and when we called down, the girl made a comment about the PlayStation and laptop my son had in the room. He is a serious gamer, and has very high tech equipment for it that we were storing in the room, but he had not set it up because the hotel didn't have the internet capacity to handle his equipment. Anyway, the comment made me very uncomfortable; how did they know about this very expensive equipment being stored in our room, if they had not been in our room to clean it or provide services? Nothing was missing but I found the comment very odd. The sad thing is, this isn't even my full list of issues we had at the hotel. I should have left but didn't want to lose a bunch of money. I filled out the survey and asked to be contacted and also called their corporate offices to report all of the issues, but the response I got was basically, "sorry we weren't wearing masks we will look into it." There is a lot more that needs to be looked into - your customer service, your cleanliness and your safety measures! Get with it, Marriott! :(

    Loved this hotel but the beds need to go

    I loved this hotel with their friendly service, clean rooms and great price ! But on the other hand the beds were very uncomfortable and unfortunately I did not get much rest ! If they would replace beds and raise their tvs up higher this place would have been perfect !

    Decent for the Rate

    Had a really good rate for Thanksgiving weekend at the Spring Hill Suites. The double bed suite was very spacious. The pantry by the front desk was fully stocked and the pool was very warm. Breakfast even for Covid was something left to be desired. Not good choices and was not very well kept up with plentiful items for everyone. Staff was friendly and cleanliness of the suite was top notch.

    Degradation at its worst

    Receptionist struggled with reservation (took 32 minutes to check in). Brought chips and drinks in for 6 boys (which at the time of reservation, I verified I could have food in the rooms abs was told about the pool policy). Denied at the door abs was told we would have to allow housekeeping to determine if we could stay. 6 housekeepers publicly voted us out of our reservation because they didnt want to clean the rooms after (this was after understanding I would be charged a $250 room clean up fee is if it was trashed). The GM was called and had given us an option to stay and not bring the food. After deliberating with the young boys, we decided to take that option, but the front desk clerk told me she was washing her hands of the situation and immediately canceled the reservation. I wasnt upset about the rules and limitations (even though I cleared everything prior to confirming the reservation). I was upset at how it was communicated and the staff feeling the need to vote (as if they really could) on whether we could stay! They should really shut the place down. I was disappointed upon arrival. It looks like a dump with new paint.

    Shy the AM employee

    I have to mention that "Shy", the am rep, has represented company with kindness, respect, but also a confident professional outreach as a hospitality perfectionist. Thank you so much Springhill sweets, for your amazing employee (employees) I was on stressful business trip during a winter storm, but was able to stablish comfortably clean and sanitize-friendly place to stay.I was greeted by a wonderful human being and easy to use online system to book, confirm and appreciate, i will be back.
