Not Marriott StandardsFriendly greeting upon arrival and elite status recognized. Good, clean, quiet room. Unlike other Marriott properties weve stayed in during the pandemic, this property doesnt provide a breakfast bag in the morning but rather 10% off at a nearby Dennys and another local restaurant. We found that unbelievably cheap as well as inconvenient and a safety and health hazard. One of the reasons to stay in a Marriott property is the assurance of simple conveniences such as a breakfast provided on the property. We understand that during the pandemic that isnt possible due to safety concerns but all properties have at least provided a bagged breakfast or wrapped breakfast items, but not this one. 10% off at Dennys????!! Really???! That totally defeats the purpose of convenience and safety Marriotts are noted for. How about a discount on the room then?! Whoever owns this Marriott is cheap and lazy in cutting corners and not living up to Marriott standards. Not recommended.

A Marriott run like a Motel 6This is my third visit to this property in the past year. As a lifetime platinum member I was thrilled when a Marriott opened in Kingman as it is a convenient stopover when traveling across the country. I understand that SpringHill is one of Marriotts lower brands but there is a National standard for these properties. Each visit to this property gets worse. The local staff are exceptional. The problem is with the local owners, Dolly and John Patel. They own five motels in Kingman, AZ and seem to have a Motel 6 mentality. Covid hits so they stop offering breakfast. They offer coffee but no half and half. They want their customers to go to Dennys for breakfast, with a 10% discount. Thats the last place I want to eat on a road trip during COVID. I want good coffee, with real half and half, not the imitation powdered crap, and a quick breakfast that I can eat in my room or take with me. Ive made three cross country road trips during Covid. This is the only Marriott not offering some form of breakfast. Different Marriotts have handle the breakfast situation differently, but every other one offered something. The Patels offer nothing. If I wanted Motel 6 amenities, I wouldnt stay at a Marriott. I expect more and quite frankly deserve more for money or points Im spending than what the Patels offer. At the coffee bar they even have a big photo showing liquid half and half. On my prior visit last month, I alerted staff to a huge safety issue in the pool. The railing for the stairs is dangerously wobbly and I fell into the pool because of it. (I have mobility issues and need to use the railing for balance and I use the pool to stretch after a long day driving. Its part of the reason Ill spend more for a Marriott). When I alerted front desk staff at check out today that the railing still wasnt fixed, they indicated that a work order was placed immediately following my last visit. Perhaps the Patels are waiting to be sued. If so Id happily be a witness for the plaintiff. I expect a Marriott to be safe and well maintained, it appears the Patels may not share such values. One final note, I made a purchase from the marketplace. Upon check out I was charged more than the price listed on the shelf a twenty percent price increase. When I questioned it, the charge was reduced. I hope it was an honest mistake and not a systemic problem with management hoping patrons wont carefully check their bill. In any event, Id avoid any hotel owned or operated by Dolly and John Patel and their Advanced Management & Investment, LLC because theyre running this new Marriott like a Motel 6 and not what I expect from a Premium brand.

Would have made a different choice, if we had knownWe used Bonvoy points to stay here, but were not told details about the hotel. We usually request a top floor room, but ended up on third floor with some elephants in the room above us. This was not pleasant! When we checked in, I inquired about breakfast and was told the hotel does nothing. Not even coffee was mentioned, but we did see a coffee stand as we were leaving the next morning. They did not offer anything but 10% off at the nearby Dennys Restaurant. Luckily, I had packed some items that served as our breakfast. The difference between this Springhill Suites and the one where we stayed in Albuquerque the night before was huge. At least the room was clean.
