Room was dirty and had terrible smoke smellWe checked in with another party and both rooms we were assigned, smelled like smoke. The floor in bathroom was sticky and room was not clean. It appeared that other rooms had also been smoked in and towels were placed under the door jam to keep the smoke from entering the hallway.

Not impressedBooked this hotel due to a coworker referral. Checkin was fine although I noticed not all employees were wearing masks appropriately. Hallway smelled like marijuana. Bathroom light was not working and floors were badly stained. I asked for a new room as I was traveling and working all day and I was very tired but was told they were sold out. I was supposed to stay the week but checked out after one night and moved to the Hilton Garden Inn which was much nicer and extremely cleaner. Coworker also told me that he was given a room that was already assigned to someone else and walked into room with key with someone in the room.

Dirty roomStained lamp shades, stained rug, ring around the bathtub. Blood stain on bathroom wall. The pool was closed. Apparently when you ask for a dog friendly room they give you the dirtiest room they have.

Don't waste your money!!As an Marriott Bonvoy member I am extremely disappointed in my recent stay at the Springhill Suites in Hampton, VA off Power Plant Pkwy. After a log day of traveling across 3 states the last thing I wanted to do was get a goodnight's rest at what I thought would be a nice hotel to meet my family's needs. The check-in process was a little slow but no real complaint there. After receiving the key to Room#421 we proceeded up to the room. As requested through the online booking we checked into a room with 2 Queen Beds and a sofa bed. Since there were 3 adults total and a toddler traveling with me the room type was idea for us. Once we arrived in the room to settle down we noticed there were only 2 towels and 2 washcloths to accommodate 2 people and no linens/pillows for the sofa bed. So instead of calling down to the Front Desk for the extra towels and bed linens I decided to go back downstairs to request them. While waiting to be assisted by one of the Front Desk Associates the couple in front of me became disgruntle when they were advised that they both of their rooms were being kicked out of the property due to the noise complaints. As I stood there waiting patiently all I could think of was taking a hot shower and getting some sleep. Finally, I was acknowledged by the Front Desk Associate and requested the bed linens and extra towels/washcloths. Once the Associate returned with the items I thank her and proceeded back upstairs to my room. Now that I was back in the room I turned on the lamp over the sofabed and to my surprise it was covered with large discoloration spots on the cushions which might have come from bleach or some type of disinfectant agent. This definitely took me by surprise which made me become very leary of even laying on the sofabed. Immediately I began to take pictures of the sofabed to have as evidence in case the hotel assumed I destroyed it. As I'm taking pictures I then begin to noticed that cushions are ripped and the inside padding was exposed. At this point I'm really becoming agitated but refused to go back downstairs to report my concerns after the not-so-great welcome I received when I went down to request the extra linens and bedding. So I proceed to pull out the bed part and again to my surprise there was dark spots on the cheaply made foam mattress which I suspect were reminisce of bed bugs. At this point I started to feel grossed out by the what I was seeing and could not force myself to even sleep on that disgusting sofabed. I ended up resting on the floor and which the bed linens the Front Desk Associate provided reeked of Mildew. This by far was one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a Marriott property. At checkout I expressed my displeasure of the hotel and the only response I received was we're in the process of replacing the sofas in the guestrooms. Really??? So I'm supposed to accept that? Then when I asked for the Property/General Manager's business card I was told they didn't have any but gave me a name of Stephanie Silar which I had to ask for her phone number. So at this point I have filed a formal complaint with Marriott Customer Care and now posting on Trip Advisor as this highly unacceptable.

Nice staff..not so nice hotel. This is the second time I stayed in this hotel in the past three months. The staff is always very friendly and they are always cleaning the common areas. However, the rooms are another issue. On both visits, the shower in both bathrooms had a very large crack and the bathroom sinks were cracked. On this visit, the sofa was stained and dirty and there was a roach in the sink. I've stayed in Springhill Suites before and this hotel is not up to the brand standard.
