DMKcruiserFound the hotel to be very clean, nice large room and comfortable bed. Nice stopped there. I had major problems with the service. I called before I booked and asked if the airport shuttle ran at 4:30am. They explained no, but when I checked in to let the front desk know and they would arrange for a cab and even pay. Well the great service stopped there. When I checked in the front desk staff told me they would arrange for a 4:30 am cab and even went as far as to tell me to come down 10 minutes early. At the same time I arranged for a wake up call. I never received the wake up call (good thing I set the alarm on my phone!) I called the front desk because I was now worried they never called a cab. The front desk apologized and said a cab had never been arranged! The cab company was called and promptly arrived. I was very disappointed.

Never againUpon arrival there was no one there to check us in. After we and another guest who arrived later stood and waited a woman finally showed up. No apology. Quite the opposite. She was SO rude and angry that we were bothering her by needing to check in. I was extremely uncomfortable. Later when Marriott sent the survey text asking how the stay was going I said, not great, and stated what had happened. The next day instead of apologizing the manager let me know that this woman was one of their BEST employees. Wow. Even with a picture of their front desk EMPTY while we were waiting.... not a soul in sight. Thats your best employee. Pretty sad. I will never have guests stay here again.

Probably will not return.We have not stayed here for about 3 years and it has definitely gone downhill. Hallways and elevators were dirty, not vacuumed. Rooms were adequately cleaned but furniture and bathroom was older and worn. Walls are pretty thin. Bedside light was not working, left a note the next morning, never repaired. I left my Apple charger in the wall, called the day after we checked out which was a Monday. He said they had not cleaned the room yet so he would check and call back. He never did so we had to call the next morning and they said it was not there. I completely understand that they are not responsible for things left behind. My husband is a Gold Elite Marriott member and travels Marriott exclusively for business and we generally love them. There are so many options in Grand Rapids so we probably will not return.

Staff not wearing masksI arrived at 4:30pm on 9/12/2020. I walked in and the desk clerk greeted me and made no attempt to put a mask on. Here is the conversation: Me: Aren't employees required to wear masks here? Clerk: I've got it next to me. M: (silence) C: It doesn't matter, I'm behind plexiglass. Avoid this hotel.

NO SHUTTLE SERVICE, NO POOL AND NO FOOD DESPITE ADVERTISEMENTS!!!!!I booked this hotel specifically for the shuttle service for a very early flight. Informed by a clerk who could have cared less, "We don't do that anymore." Then I thought "Well, I'll just relax in the pool." Went back and asked the clerk where the pool was and she told me, "Everything is shut down b/c of Covid." And then I asked her how early breakfast would be provided. Again, informed that wasn't happening either. I understand the restrictions, but you cannot continue to advertise these amenities if you aren't providing them.
