  Quick Pandemic Relief

  My boyfriend and I wanted a change. So we decided to have a staycation. We were concerned about the pandemic but I brought cleaning supplies and enjoy our time together. The room was very clean and the common areas were closed. The front desk staff was very nice.

  Cute Suite, comfortable stay and recommended

  So, I was coming over to Gaithersburg for an interview and also later on volunteering at a local park in a different part of the state. The representatives at the front desk, were very friendly and helpful. The room itself--omg!!, it was just the cutest suite that I've ever stayed in! The hotel has extra precautions/cleaning for during the pandemic and that's also one of the reasons for my stay. It was cute and comfortable! There is a shopping center just down the street from the hotel (shopping and restaurants) called The Rio Lakefront. There really are a bunch of places to go eat and walk along the waterfront and I wish I had been able to stay a little longer so that I could have done just that and explored some more on my stay. Next time! :-) I highly recommend the hotel. The pricing is reasonable and I felt very safe staying there. The bedding is premium Marriott mattresses and super comfty! I definitely will come back!   no place to put your clothes

  i am writing this review to remind myself not to stay here again! my memory is of being thoroughly frustrated with the design of the room. sleek and modern but no place to put clothing other than the bedside table. maybe we got a rotten room, but it was a king suite.

  Disappointed

  We are local but we had to get a hotel for two nights as we are redoing our wood floors. When I booked the hotel using the Marriott app it said it was dog friendly. When I checked in I had my dog with us and the front desk clerk did not say anything. On the second morning we were told that we would be charged $75 for our dog. The front desk clerk at check in never mentioned this and when I went on the app I did not see anything about a charge. The info on the app is buried on a subpage. I told the manager that I would have stayed somewhere else if I was going to get charged for my dog. As a lifetime Marriott Gold Member, I asked for a break on this (again because I never saw it nor was told at check-in). This has left a very sour experience for us, especially after we stayed the previous two nights at the Aloft in Ocean City were it was truly dog friendly and there was no charge for our dog. As an added complaint when I went to get a brown bag breakfast at 9:00 am, there was nothing left. Plus I never received a welcome gift (bottle of water). Only stating these last two things because Im pissed about the dog charge.

  So - So stay

  I booked this property because of the suite unit & Marriott name. Check-in was easy but I was shocked that no room cleaning would be done. Their site says no breakfast buffet (only grab & go - don't even bother with this) and limited services may be offered at this time . I get a confirmation & they could have stated "no room cleaning at this time." I would have cancelled my reservation as I like to have my bed made & bathroom cleaned up each day. The bed was comfortable, room was quiet & clean (except for the rug which could have been vacuumed better). Towels were paper thin & scratchy, no lotion was provided, furniture is 1960's look & very poor light in the toilet area. Our toilet had a leak in the back & there was a little stream of water going down the grout which made a black line against the edge. I guess this had been going on for sometime to make such a build up. Was it mold? I reported it but they could not fix it. They said I could change rooms, but after a 5 hr drive this Grandma didn't want to pack up & get settled again. For two of my three days I kept a large towel in back of the toilet to prevent the leak from going across the floor. Front desk did give me 15% off for only two of the nights. I think that Marriott could do better. Unit is cute but small.
