  Older but nice!

  My husband and I stayed here on our way back home from our vacation in North Myrtle Beach. AFTER making our reservations to stay here we read the reviews and were a little leary, but figured we would give it a try anyway.....especially since we were using points that my husband had acquired thru all of the traveling he does. We are glad we did. We found it to be clean, roomy, and comfortable. The guy (I've forgotten his name) that checked us in was very nice and treated us well. I don't know why this place has so many bad reviews. It IS older, but it was clean, and that's really what is most important to me.

  Worst Springhill Suites Ever

  I am a Marriott Gold traveller and have stayed at many Springhill Suites This property is beyond worn. I was told it is scheduled to be renovated. It appears to be about five years beyond when it should have been renovated. I feel so strongly about this that I believe that Marriott should revoke its brand from this property. In fact, the condition of this property makes me wonder about Marriott's quality control and inspection program.

  Disappointed

  We stayed here before a trip. I always try to find something good about every place we stay. The staff was very good and the bed was comfortable. Now for the awful, the room was dirty. There was a large stain on the couch. The curtains were dirty. The caulk in the bathroom was coming off and had mildew on it. My wife was unable to take a shower because the handle came off in her hand and the screw fell out. There was soap scum in the soap dish so it hadnt been cleaned. My wife freaked out when she found a booger on one of the towels. I would not recommend this hotel.

  BED BUG STAINS~~DO NOT STAY HERE!

  I am a world traveler and have traveled at 5 star hotels all around the world. Have stayed at many Springhill Suites. My husband and I planned on staying here to visit a family member who lives in Columbus. At check in we were caught off guard with a weird and high deposit of $200!! The front desk agent tried to make sense of it and said that it has to be paid to check in, we tried to talk him down to $100, but it just did not make any sense to take $200 deposit for such a hotel. My friend works in the hotel business and told me that the thing that hotels do now to discriminate against people is use a heavy deposit to people they profile at check in. I haven't worked in hotels since a freshman at college, so I don't know how true this is. If this is true, then they will eventually have a discrimination lawsuit on it way! We decided to go ahead and check in because we always stay at Marriott. Upon entering the hotel, it was a stale stench in the room. when we lifted up the sheets from the bed, there was mattress soiled in bed bug stains! BED BUG STAINS! A total sanitation violation. Disgusting! Marriott pride themselves with great hotels and this hotel should not hold the Marriott brand name.

  Dont go for maybe 6 months

  So I booked the hotel on Priceline for a good rate. However nothing was like stated. The entire hotel was being refurbished to the point you had to circle the hotel to even find a door to enter. When I found one by the gym I think had to search for the front desk which was a table set up in a room off the hallway. The entire first floor otherwise was gutted. The pictures online are apparently what the hotel will one day look like. I checked in and was given a just remodeled room upstairs. The room was supposed to be a king bed with a Queen pull out sofa. The sofa however just housed a trundle style twin bed under it that was still in plastic. No sheets blankets or pillows were in the room with it. The towels had what appeared to be old blue ink stains on them. And finally the new shower did not drain correctly and overflowed. It took about 10 mins running to get hot water. Oh and the entire property is surrounded by dumpsters and containers. No breakfast as advertised and no pool. Anyone who goes on family trips knows how important those 2 things are of expected.
