Loved the room, not the serviceI always liked Marriott hotels, which is why I was unpleasantly surprised by my recent experience. First, theres no mention of advanced construction all around the hotel, which starts with banging something metal at 7:30 am. Every morning. 2nd, theres no mention that their promised hot breakfast consists of a paper bowl, a spoon, and a packet of Quaker instant oatmeal. Even though theres a Starbucks and Panera Bread right next to it. In my opinion, its better to have nothing than this. No milk either, I asked. Our 1st day, we were given the wrong directions on where to park and no mention of how to enter the hotel from the parking garage. Tip: you have to park near East elevator, 4 th floor, take it to 2nd floor - thats the entrance and the carts. Which we didnt know, so had to drag our things outside around the whole garage building. Oh, and the entrance to the garage gets closed for construction without notice, so have to go around the building for the other entrance. Yes, I know they cant control construction and its Covid-19 everywhere- just explain that on the website!.. I checked several times, nothing. One clerk told me I should have called them. And ask what? Do you have construction around?.. The only reason I gave 3 stars and not 1 is because the suite is beautiful, loved the design, separate bathroom and plentiful outlets specifically. Thank you for that. Too bad the service sucks...

Not recommending hotel due to constructionInstallations are ok. Also, room cleaning is only once a week. There is construction which starts at 5am with a lot of noise making it difficult to sleep. If you are a light sleeper like me its a hotel to avoid due to construction and lack of frequent cleaning.

Overall decent stayI was only here for 1 night, but i was relatively satisfied. There was no recognition of my titanium status but there isn't much difference at SPS anyway. The parking was convenient in an attached garage, but was a little on the pricey side for not being in the center of town. The ability to utilize LA Fitness next door was a plus.

DisappointedMe,my husband, and our son stayed here for 2 nights. After traveling for 6 hours we were exhausted. When time came for us to go to sleep, the sheets were stained with blood and the mattress itself had urine stains. Called the front desk, a gentleman came down to look at the beds and he was very apologetic. He said that it was disgusting and gross. He said there were no other room we can be switched to so he brought us clean sheets. Except that didn't resolve the filthy mattress issue. We were told that someone from management would contact us, that never happened. We went to the front desk the next morning and explained what happened. The young lady at the desk nonchalantly said "Oh we took off one night of parking off of your bill". That was it!! No sincere apologies or nothing. It is now February and I still haven't heard from management. I have several photos but I'm not able to post them.

This is good for a student.I'm a platinum member of Marriott so I have stayed months at Marriott's all over the world. This is one of my least favorite anywhere. We stayed here to be close to where my son lives. First of all the people at the desk act like you're bothering them when you check in. Very seldom do you see anyone during your stay. You pay to park which is normal. What is a pain is your drive across the street then go to level 4 then carry your things a distance with no help to the hotel. Once you walk and take elevators to get to the lobby you can get a luggage cart. You can't unload from the street because there is a very high staircase with steep steps. If your over 35 this is not a hotel for you even if you're fit. Just a pain when you're suppose to enjoy yourself. Plus they are suppose to give you a bag for breakfast they hide it somewhere. We eat with my son but they don't say hi or would you like breakfast or anything. If you want a better option in the same price we have stayed at the Resident Inn Marriott Airport many days. They go out of their way to help you.We just wanted to stay in Shadyside. This will be our last time at this hotel. I've stayed at many hotels during Covid and they might have taken what they could to staff the front desk We stayed at another hotel where the front desk was the same way.
