  Simply Superb

  What a nice hotel. My daughter and I along with my grandkids and my daughters best friend, her daughters and sister as well as their grandma, stayed here for 2 nights when we attended a Womens meeting for a church we fellowship with in Watkinsville. We left Nashville later than anticipated and arrived at the hotel after midnight. We were welcomed with open arms and got checked in quickly and efficiently. The connecting rooms were very large and spacious and the beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was quite tasty. I would not hesitate to stay here again. They even let us check out after church was over lovely place and would highly recommend this hotel to all families visiting the Athens/ Watkinsville area.

  Expected More from the Marriott Chain...

  This was a semi-last minute trip just to get out of town for a few days, and my husband & I usually stay at something in the Marriott or Hilton family of hotels. This one had good reviews and the amenities we prefer. I do understand that COVID has completely disrupted the hospitality industry, but I was nonetheless disappointed in this hotel. Check-in was great and the staff was friendly. We were on the third floor and immediately upon walking in the room there was a musty smell. I chalked it up to the fact that it's Georgia in the summer and that once I turned the thermostat lower, it would eventually cool down and the smell would go away. I was wrong. It lingered and was more pronounced in the bathroom. I'm not sure if it was simply the drain or if it was a mold/mildew issue, but it was strong. I was also not impressed with the cleanliness of the room. A throw pillow on the bed had a large gray smudge, the comforter had spots on it, and the bathroom had dark gray spots as well - the tile floor and the shower floor. It just made it a little harder to relax. Bed was pretty firm, but fine. FYI, because of COVID, breakfast is limited to packaged muffins, cereals, and frozen burritos and the pool is closed. Good location. It was mostly quiet except for a few sirens that were pretty loud as they went down the road but very rare. Not too far from restaurants and a QT right around the corner. Again, I was a little disappointed, and I probably wouldn't stay here again, but it was fine for a couple of nights.

  Poor management and lousy breakfast.

  The good: Room was nice & clean, same with lobby. Other than that, it was an annoying stay. I take a fast shower, but the water was backed up over my ankles in the tub in no time. Same for the sink bowl half full of water by the time I finished brushing my teeth. TP holder was broken and the roll placed on top. Should have been reported and fixed by cleaning person, I didn't bother reporting it if they hadn't done anything already. The room was quiet, and the A/C worked just fine, although it never seemed to shut off at 70F when it was below that outside. Breakfast. I get that's it's "Grab and Go" due to Covid, but come on. The only thing they had were cereal bowls, milk and a tiny muffin in a bag. There were 6 of us in the lobby at 6:45 am staring at nothing. One person even said "at least they could have Raisin Bran". No reason not to have Yogurt or (washable) fruit, or bananas. A nicer hotel would have those Bob Evans cook your own in a microwave breakfasts. Management is just being cheap. When I arrived the evening before (80% full), there was a pizza box leaning against the FULL garbage can. It was still there the next morning when I left, 14 hours later.

  Excellent SERVICE with Smiles!!!

  The Staff at SpringHill Suites made our business trip enjoyable!! Always accommodating and helpful with all of our needs! I want to mention Kevin, Holly, Lori, Sabrina, Leaigha, Shelby and Brandy!!!!!

  Fantastic stay

  I read reviews before I booked it and thought Id take a chance and Im sure glad I did. The bed was very comfortable and my room was super clean. Carpet in hallway was clean. Only thing I was disappointed about is they werent serving their regular breakfast (I suppose it was because Covid). You are a good little ways from downtown but this was quiet and out far enough from the rat race downtown. Seriously dont think youd be disappointed. Very accommodating- as I asked for a first floor room and they delivered.
