  The Best Place for the skiing

  Excellent hotel, just opposite the lift on the Rifflsee and bus to the Glacier (5 minutes). Good, comfortable room, quite a decent spa. Absolutely delicious cuisine, are particularly interesting theme nights (Tyrol, Gala Dinner ......). Warning and qualified staff.

  Very Comfortable and Typically Austrian

  We stayed for a week and had 3 double rooms between us, each with a balcony. All were very comfortable; well-furnished, very clean and of a good size. Beds were firm and very comfortable. The pool was decently sized and low on chlorine.Food was excellent and they were happy to provide Soya milk for one of party. The rooms might be due for a refurbish soon, but really, no complaints at all. The staff spoke some English and were happy to help with requests. A couple of things: the hotel is at least 13k from the nearest doctor in case this is important to you. It also seems that Mandarfen, where the hotel is located, is a draw for the local youngsters on a Friday night. With rooms at the front of the hotel, their loud noise kept us awake for some time on our last night.

  Great experience in the Alps

  From breakfast to apres ski to dinner, we experience excellent service and great meals. The room could exceeded our expectations. The staff could not be more accommodating! Located right across the street from the bus stop and the winter ski lifts. This was or second visit to this hotel and we are looking forward to our next visit.

  Excellent stay

  We stayed 5 nights at the Sportivhotel Mittagskogel this summer, in a "Sportive room" with half-board included. We found the stay very pleasant. The service provided by the staff was friendly and helpful, both in the hotell and at the restaurant. Mandarfen is a very small place, so everything is close by wherever you choose to stay. But it does not get more central than the Mittagskogel, as it situated just in front of the Rifflsee cablecar and the bus stop. The room was of good size and practical, although not with the most modern feel. The WiFi worked OK, but the TV were "german speaking only". The room had a big balcony, facing the back side of the hotell. The view was quite limited, due to the steep hillside of the valley. Rooms at the font/side will provide better views. The restaurant was excellent, providing varied and inspired cooking every evening. I often go a bit bored after many days of 3/4 course restaurant dinners, but this time we wished we could stay longer just for the food. The breakfast buffet was also very good. As far as I could observe Mandarfen does not have many, if any, "non-hotel" restaurants. Going for a half board package therefore seems a good option. All in all we had a wonderfull time at the Mittagskogel and I do not hesitate to recommend the hotel to other visitor to Pitztal.
