  Great view!

  We needed a last minute respite from the heat wave in Vienna, and went to Semmering for a few days in the middle of summer. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast buffet was nice, dinner was better at the restaurants in the village, but this is their off season when they may be unaccustomed to visitors who aren't kids groups and families. The staff were all excellent.

  Perfect for skiing

  It is a bit old fashioned, but very clean hotel with friendly staff and excellent breakfast. The rooms are not too big, but bathroom is very nice, clean and modern. It is just a few steps from Semmering.There is amazing view to the surrounding mountains from the balcony.The only little negative, there is no hot water pool or jacuzzi in the wellness area.

  A few days skiing within easy reach of Vienna....

  Spent a few days in the Sport Hotel Semmering and really couldnt fault it. Clean rooms, great breakfast, & nice swimming pool. Sure ita a little dated but we were there for the skiing which was perfect for a few days. Within easy reach of Stuhleck too. Great mountain views.

  Good also for business stop

  We have stopped here for 1 night in business trip and we have taken option with dinner and breakfast. At beginning we needed to wait 5 minutes for some person in check in but then it was only advantages. View from room and terrace was amazing. Dinner was with some courses to choose. Generally OK. Breakfast quite rich as it was not high season and not so many guests. That's why my colleague could also get a room with view but probably girl in reception even didn't pay attention. This should be corrected for future. We didn't use swimming pool but we were playing ping pong. Maybe hotel is not so new and modern but we were finally very satisfied.

  Average experience

  I was with friends here for 10 days. When we arrived at around 10PM they served us dinner which was nice. The room is nice although the furniture is a bit outdated, but what really disgusted me were the dirty blankets which I had to take off and put them on the ground so that left me sleeping with just the sheet for the rest of the stay, which was unpleasant since the nights get pretty cold. In the morning we were served breakfast, which was very average. The rest of the days we were also served mediocre food, the french fries were absolutely disgusting and at one time there was a spider in the salad, which was unacceptable. The cleaning staff also didn't change our towels after 4 days of them being on the ground (which signals that they are dirty). The staff at reception and restaurant were very nice and helpful, so that's a +1 star. There is a gym and a pool, but the pool's water is cold. Overall I wouldn't really recommend this place, but if this is the only place you can stay then so be it, the prices are good.
