  The hotel is a bit outdated, but it looks like most of the hotels in the area are. Also, this hotel is outskirts of the main village. There is a hotel shuttle, but it does not run all the time. The shuttle took us to the village for dinner and then we took a taxi back, less than 2 miles and cost 10 euros! The staff was okay but they deal with large groups and can wear on them. One person that we enjoyed having in the dining area was Antonio. He was always on top of everything and very professional, swift, and friendly. I did not try the work out room because it was small, dim, and didn't seem too inviting. Overall, good but I next time, I would stay in Canazei village.

  Notes from Sweden with gratitude

  Good stay at Hotel Caminetto, mostly because the fantastic good service in the restaurant (thanks José - youre the man)!The room was basic but acceptable. Good location just between Canazei and Campinello. Very close to the skibus-stop 80 meters) and free shuttle to the main ski-lift makes the logistics easy and flexible. Added to this the resort contributed to beautiful ski weather. Indeed a memorable vacation!

  "Il Caminetto" is a hotel in the center of Canazei, a big town in Trento. if you love the winter and the mountain life, this is the best place where you can go. it is located at the center od Dolomiti, the best mountains range in Italy and probably in the north Europe. In a tipical day you can go skiing in the main ski slopes of Dolomiti (Saslong, Sella Ronda, Marmolada), but also you can take a fantsatic walk on the snow. The hotels on the Dolomites is too expensive but if you spend muc money, you can see the wonderfull of the mountains in the winter. At the "Il Caminetto" you can have a particolary breakfast of the italian and german culture with eggs and bacon. If you passed your day on the ski slopes, you must eat at the shelter. When you turn back to the hotels, you can have a dinner, and, during a week, the theme of the dinner changed. The service is very ospitality and welcoming. If you decide to skiing, you can had the possibility to heated your ski and ski boots. In the hotel there is a big swimming pool and a gym where you can training. The bed room and in general all room of the hotels is very clean. it is a fantastic experience at "Il Caminetto".

  Great Location and Unbelievable Service

  Recently stayed at this hotel on a Ski Program where we booked out the entire hotel. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Pool, Spa And Jacuzzi are excellent and a real treat after a long day skiing. Service is probably the best I have seen in Italy. Staff are just brilliant - friendly and willing to do what it takes to make you happy. Italian hospitality at its best. A wonderful team running this hotel provides you with a great stay and the great service needed after long days skiing on the beautiful mountain terrain.

  Better not

  With 2 families we visited this family hotel. First of all we did not get the rooms that we had booked. We were crammed into simple, small rooms. This is really a hotel where they do NOT understand anything about hospitality. Management cannot deal with customers. The food was really really bad! We werent even finshed with eating and the staff already took our plates. They started with changing the restaurant for breakfast and guests were still having dinner. All the hospitality rules were exceeded. Only a few people from the staff were nice and friendly. It was really dissapointing!
