4 days in and cannot wait to leave...Where to start? We have two adjoining rooms with out teenage sons. We booked with Esprit Ski. Having been skiing with them 4 times before (catered chalets) we can't believe the low standards we have experienced this week: 1. On arrival the coach dropped us at the wrong hotel. Five families had to trudge through the snow at 9pm to try to find the correct one 2. We finally arrived at 9.40. Dinner finished at 9pm. It took considerable effort to get some food and it was nowhere near enough to feed the 30ish people. 3. Neither of our toilets flushed. Reception sent a maintenance man. For the rest of our stay they either didn't flush or water flowed constantly until we repeatedly banged the wall. 4. The shower runs VERY hot, then cold, randomly and the shower head doesn't stay where it's supposed to, but instead flops about. 5. Our toilet paper wasn't replinshed. We had to go to the basement and root around in the cleaners' cupboard. 6. The food is hideous and COLD. Even the pasta and pasta sauces are COLD Not at all what we've come to expect from Esprit. Tonight (Christmas night) we left the hotel and went and found a restaurants despite paying full board. 7. The bed sheets are grubby/stained. 8. Our sons' beds are lumpy and uncomfortable. 9. The lights in our room flicker randomly. 10. The carpet is FILTHY. 11. The hotel has run out of padlocks for their boot/ski room leaving us unable to lock them up. 12. The roommate sparse and small. No chair or table so whilst we have had 3 days of bad weather this week we've only been able to sit on our beds. We would never recommend this place to anyone. We can't believe Esprit uses such a "hotel". We can wait to get home.

Not very satisfiedNo gym. No organic food. Small bedrooms, no space to work with a laptop. No parking. No WiFi for 3 days and then poor WiFi signal quality. Expensive for what it is. Difficult ski return trip from the slopes to the hotel.

Christmas at les Bergers with EspritJust back from a great week with Esprit at Alpe dHuez staying at les Bergers. In contrast to the previous review we couldnt fault the hotel although I would say the relationship between Esprit and MMV isnt great and the esprit staff didnt seem to know much about the hotel, but this was the first week for them. The highlight was undoubtedly the quality of the food particularly the Christmas Eve meal with oysters, langoustines, fillet steak and a range of deserts on offer. The Rest of the week was also very good and definitely the best food Ive had on any ski holiday. The rooms were on the small side but had everything we needed on a ski holiday. The shower was a bit of art to set properly and perhaps unsafe for young children to get the right temperature. The location was ideal next to the main Marmottes lift and bergers Centre, even to walk to the main Centre was only 15 mins away. One thing to be aware of, this isnt an exclusive Esprit hotel with most of the guests being French but for us this added to our holiday experience and I would definitely recommend it to others

Great hotel and locationThe hotel was really busy but the staff were always polite and efficient. The rooms are quite a good size for ski hotel and very clean. We were full board and the food was very good quality and varied every day. It even included free wine and juice. On Valentines evening all adults had a glass of champagne and the ladies had a red rose. It was a really nice touch. It was a two minute ski down to most of the ski lifts and main area. Im not a skier but found a couple of really nice walks. The best one was up the road to the Altipoint where the sledge runs also went. I would definitely stay here again. The majority of guests were french families and there was a lot of entertainment in the evenings as well for adults and children. The wifi was very good as well

Better than expectedWe were a bit worried after some recent flaky reviews but in the end it was all ok and an interesting experience. They have a ridiculous policy of check in after 6pm and check out before 9am although this fortunately didn't affect us due to flight times. Check in was a bit chaotic as they lumped all six of us under one name for their cashless card whereby a special card has to be used for all drinks purchased at the bar. That had to be unpicked for 3 couples and then they set a 100 Euro limit which if breached blocks the card! All a bit archaic. The room was small but functional. Water was piping hot although the bath was only good for midgets and toddlers. The TV promised English channels but there are none, only French although there is a button to get English if a film is in English The ski shop (Skiset) is in the hotel next to the boot room and you can almost ski out to the nearest lift. There are two very near. Skiing back isn't bad with a very short uphill walk to the hotel. The restaurant is buffet for every meal and had plenty of choice, more than a chalet for sure. Sometimes a bit chaotic with certain thongs running out but usually replenished OK. The wine is on tap for lunch and dinner but we found it to be pretty agricultural. Coffee machines are good but only turned on for breakfast. All meals had hot and cold choices. It's full board which is unusual and we came back once for lunch and found it to be packed so everyone seemed to want their money's worth. There's also afternoon vin chaud/tea/coffee and cakes. We didn't bother with the spa stuff. There are several bars and shops in Les Bergers a short stroll from the hotel and the main Alpe d;Huez resort is less than 15 minutes away plus you can use gondolas to get around during the day too. There's a luge next to the hotel which is quite good. The evening entertainment is all in French and very Butlin-esqe but the 95% French clientele seemed to like it.
