  A quite place

  A very quite place at the foot of moutain. There is a large backyard, very nice. The staffs are kind. Room is clean. And the breakfast is good. The facilities is a bit tired. Not easy to find restaurant or stores.

  The joy of the housekeeper makes the place shine

  We had a blast staying at Southern light country house.The space ,the rooms the boews,the pool Ray(the dog) and Phadiel the manager were great.But what made the place special was the house keeper Aunty Pumza.Big up.You rock.

  New Year's 2019

  We had a lovely 3 night stay at Southern Light. The room was very comfortable for all four of us as the owners added an extra cot to the Executive Suite as the house was fully booked over New Year's. The breakfasts were delicious. The house and garden is just beautiful. It is so close to the Kirstenbosch Botanical garden that is was super easy to get home on New Year's eve from the concert. We enjoyed chatting each day with the manager and head housekeeper. They provided us with picnic blankets for our day and evening at the Botanical Gardens on New Year's and introduced us to the house cat, Milo ,and dog, Ray, who made our walks around the house and yard fun for all of us.

  Perfect stay.

  We stayed on Southern Light Guest House for the second week of our holiday having stayed the first week in central Cape Town. Constantia is a peaceful, safe suburb, which is easy to get around from if you have a car. Constantia Village shopping centre is a 5 minute drive and a lovely place to visit. Its a 20 minute drive into central Cape Town, driving back at peak rush our time if could take you 45 minutes to an hour. The guesthouse is very close to Table Mountain NP and to Kirstenbosch. The guest house is ideally situated closed to a number of vineyards which was great. The guesthouse is beautifully decorated with very comfortable rooms. The garden is large with swimming pool and tennis court. Lots of beautiful flowers and plants. The rooms are large and very clean. The mattress were very comfortable. Large breakfast with lots of choice. The best thing about this guest house is the staff and the team spirit that prevails. The staff show kindness and are interested in there guests to ensure they enjoy their stay and offer advice about what to see and engage guests in interesting discussions. This guest house is of a very high standard I would not hesitate to recommend this guesthouse.

  Great stay, excellent service.

  Excellent stay, the breakfast service and accommodations were excellent. Location has good security, and being located in upper Constantia is more or less "in the middle" of anything you might drive to go see. Staff willing to check in and out at odd times of the day or night. Most rooms have direct view of gardens which is very nice. Staff extremely friendly and the manager is a wonderful person. The only note of caution I give is that the website nor the third party listings I have seen mention that the place is halaal despite the contrary appearing on the welcome paper. The main practical drawback of this is that you cannot bring alcohol into the property even to put in your luggage, at least from my interpretation. Despite this one negative, you will absolutely not regret staying at the Southern Light Country House.
