Be warned! When I arrived, I was given a room on the second floor, no view and very dark. Later I got a room at 5th floor. However, used soap from previous guest was not removed. The fridge contained stuff from the previous guest. Laundry charges are about 3 times higher than much better hotels in Suva. The breakfast is very poor. WiFi signals very weak. Staff is very pleasant!

WorkStayed from Early Feb to early march while we were on slip in Suva. Old hotel, you get what you see. In her day the hotel must have been top of the line but is a little run down now. Good rooms, wood panel and character squeaky floors. Good aircon, great shower and close to the middle of Suva. Korean restaurant on top floor, do not miss Saturday and Sunday barbecue night. I can not say enough about the staff, friendly and extremely helpful, nothing is a problem. First day breakfast was a let down but after a word to the staff the next two weeks was great. Cooked and continental selection. There were four of us staying there and all agreed it is work a look. If you are looking for 4-5 star or have these expectations do not go there. If you just want a good (Standard) room with a strong shower, air con that works and central to all then try it out. I have stayed in a lot worse for a lot more money.

Run down accommodationThe first room assigned (101) smelled of stale smoke. But almost all the rooms are old, worn and run-down and there was inconsistent housekeeping service. Towels (which were very thin) were not changed on some days and used toiletries were not replaced as well. Initially, there was no shower curtain as well but it suddenly made an appearance after a few days. The bathroom's ventilation window opens to the corridor so female travelers may want to take note. The hot and cold water controls were swapped and the temperature ran between spurts of scalding hot and very cold water. There were lots of strange stains at the sink. The kettle had murky water in it and had strange growth in it so it was unusable. The balcony was dirty so it was rather unusable. The beds were sunken and there were no hangers. Wifi was not existent and really available at reception and even so, it was really slow. The pros were that there were tons of counter space on the bathroom's vanity and both the room and bathroom were rather large. When service was done, the housekeeper could really make a mean bed with impressively straight and flat bedsheet. The view of Suva city from the breakfast room (the one with bad breakfast) was excellent and the toilet paper is of surprisingly good quality.

1 Star is too high for this 'hotel'This so called hotel was the worst hotel experience we have ever had in our lives. We arrived and the exterior of the building was dilapidating which was not a welcoming site. We checked in and the security person took us to our room. He slowly explained all of the accessories we had in the room and checked each one off for us e.g. kettle, TV, A/C Remote control, weve never had this experience ever in a hotel! It was like signing a tenancy agreement! After asking us to acknowledge each one and after ticking off each item he took his time and all of this took a minimum of 5 mins that he was in our room. After he left, we were horrified at the state of the room, the whole place was falling apart! The robe looked like it was made of 50 year old wood, the whole room smelt like bleach, so strong! The balcony was overlooking a metal scrapyard building which looked like it was about to fall apart, very depressing sight. There were stains on the sheets and towels, they provided a bath mat as a hand towel! We booked the deluxe room and it looked more like a cell in a prison. We walked into the breakfast room and all of the Staff were sitting idly enjoying the breakfast and there wasn't much left on the serving trays, probably eaten by the staff, not a single patron at a little past 08am in the morning, that is telling of the service and breakfast food quality. There was a small bowel of baked beans which looked like they were emptied straight out of ready made baked bean cans, there were a few eggs boiled floating on water and the whole setup did not look hygienic at all. When we walked outside, one of the staff asked us which room we were in, not telling us why she was asking that, why would you ask us that question? It sounded suspicious to us. The free wifi did not have any signal in our room and my laptop connected using the password however the wifi did not connect, we were told the first afternoon that the wifi was down, then later in the evening when they informed us that the wifi was up, our connection did not work, we went and saw the reception staff multiple times during our stay, around 4-5 times and they were never helpful. I even took my laptop once and showed the lady at the reception and she just stared blankly at me, we asked for the manager's assistance and the reception lady just looked at us and said she was not here, unhelpful and terrible customer service! When we wanted to check out, we said we wouldn't pay the whole balance as we never received all of the services we paid for e.g. wifi. The manager was not understanding at all and gave us no option, it is our right as customers to pay for what we received! If you are visiting Suva, I would highly recommend you to forget booking at this hotel

NOT SECURE AND NOT SAFEDecided to check in into this hotel thinking it's safe and secure!!! Sad to say that it's not secured because the security and his colleague decided to open my car... Approximately around 10.30 had a call from the receptionist that the security said that my car is open...I told the receptionist to tell the security just don't touch my car please..and I hang up... I got scared and called the receptionist again and asked her to ask the security...How did they know that my car is open??she asked them.. then the receptionist said for me to talk to the security and I asked the security guy how did u know that my car is open????he said he was just doing a routine check...so I asked the security guy...So your saying that the routine is part of opening my car too???asked him 2 to 3 times how did u know that my car is open...and the security guy finally admit that him and his colleague just wanna have a look!!!! But when the security guy said he wants to come up to my room... I said I'm sorry nooo... I was so scared to even spend the night their... So I walked out off the hotel.. And went to Tanoa Hotel which is much safer and secure...
