  Missing it's potential

  We have visited this resort for the past 2 years. Each time, we were assigned a very sub par 2 bedroom unit. This year, neither tub had stoppers in the tub, so it made taking a jacuzzi bath impossible. The hair dryer wall mount was so antiquated you are better off letting your hair air dry. The wall paper in the bathroom was ripped. Luckily, our unit was no ground floor at the balcony -- two of the three patio doors would not lock, and the secure bae was torn off both. The unit is very big and that was nice. I appreciated leather furniture This year, we did have a stack washer and dryer -- the first year we stayed they were not hooked up. The staff is nice, although we never saw them. The tennis courts are in very bad shape. The miniature golf is just a skeleton of what once was a miniature golf course -- not playable. The location is why we returned. It is close to everything and that makes it worth the irritations, I guess. I see in the photos of others that there ARE some nicer units, but for some reason we are assigned the beat up ones with so-so views. The unit was clean and the grounds are well maintained. With updating, repairs, and attention to the outdoor amenities, this could be a great resort. As is, it falls short.

  Excellent View

  Nice resort with good views of Lake Hamilton, especially from the 3rd floor. We didn't have any real problems here and enjoyed our stay. Staff was helpful. Many good restaurants nearby if you don't want to travel into town.

  Beautiful view and amazing accommodations in Hot Springs

  We stayed at South Shore Lake Resort on beautiful Lake Hamilton. Our unit was larger than we expected and even though it is a somewhat older resort, everything was well maintained and clean. I appreciated the contact less check in/out system and the helpful office staff. We loved having a real wood fire and a large deck to enjoy the beautiful views.

  Looking forward to our third stay

  Sitting on the shore of a large manmade lake this resort is ideally located in the Hot Springs area. The the second and third floor units have very beautiful views of the lake. The spacious balconies are ideal for taking it easy, enjoying the view and catching up on your reading. The kitchens are especially well equipped for those of us who enjoy home cooked meals but there are plenty of restaurants nearby too. Grocery stores are easy to get to including one just outside the back gate (Harps) where we discovered and took advantage of their Wednesday rotisserie chicken Special for $4.99! It is a quiet place with nothing exciting on the property itself (the pool and hot tub of course) . Hot Springs National Park is 10 minuets away and worth a visit as is the village surrounding it. Little Rock has several points of interest also. Darlene, the office manager, is knowledgeable., and resourceful with the perfect personality for a customer relations position. She is surely a key to the success of South Shore Resort, The resort management is doing a great job maintaining this property. Cleanliness is excellent as is the quality and condition of every aspect of the property. Security people are very helpful, alert and friendly at all hours of the day. We are anxious to return this year. The fall is beautiful there!

  Great week at South Shore Lake Resort

  We stayed in a second level, full kitchen, studio with a great view of Hamilton Lake. The resort had carts and an elevator to get our luggage upstairs to our room. We did not have laundry facilities in our room but the resort had a nice laundry room on the ground floor of our unit. The recreation building was just across the parking lot and we enjoyed the pool table and indoor hot tub. The swimming pool was unfortunately outdoors so we did not get the chance to use it this time of year. We had a great week and enjoyed our stay.
