  OK stay

  We just returned from our stay at Sotiris studios for 14nights. As previously advised, there are good and bad things about this place. The good things: Most of the staff was very friendly. Gardens are nicely maintain. The three pools allow enough space for everyone. You don't need to wake up early to get a space near the pools. The bad things: The airport is very close and the planes are coming in low and can be a bit noisy. We had the impression that everything was too much hassle for the lady from the reception. The apartment allocated to us was in between heavy smokers which wasn't ideal as we have children. We kindly asked her to move us to other apartment which she hesitatingly did but not before telling us that everybody smokes there and after trying to upsell us other apartment she showed us an alternative which was a bit tired but we gladly accepted as the neighbour apartment was occupied by another non smoking family. The kitchen is not well equipped and a basic pot was not included. We had to asked twice for it and were told by the lady from the reception that people don't cook there...what?!!! Towels were changed just once during our whole stay!! Please note that you have to pay 5 EUR daily for air conditioning which is actually only in one room. The apartments don't have a TV or radio and the WIFI is very slow. What really left a bad taste for us was that on our last day we asked if we could check out at 1pm instead of 11 am as our plane left at 5pm, the lady from the reception wasn't helpful or flexible....again She wanted to charge us 30 EUR to extend the stay until 1pm. She then agreed to allow us to leave a 12pm without an additional charge. At that time the resort was already half empty. We won't return because of the bad things mentioned above.

  Just the tonic

  Very enjoyable. Short break here to break the Covid blues. Most welcoming environment. Studios fairly plain but had everything needed and was quite spacious in C block. 3 pools to use and a bar that suited the environment. Even though SC we ate at the property frequently. Very good quality and at similar prices to eating out. Bus to Argostoli is less than 5 mins away if not hiring a car.

  Honest Review.. Other Places To Consider.

  Hi there thanks for checking out my review... I like to write an honest review of places I have visited so take a look at this to get not just a moany review but a factual review. We arrived Mid September after having a great flight over from Heathrow. We took a family trip over to Kefalonia due to Covid and the quarantine restrictions in the UK so we decided to book the Sotiris Studio Apartments In Svoronata. Overall first impressions of the area were clean and the staff were semi welcoming. The maintenance of the gardens were nice and looked after.There wasn't much signage to state where to go ie reception area or even where to check in. This is situated to the left of the main pool bar when asked by one of the bar staff. It took a while for us to check in as they seem to 'not be prepared' for our arrival. We arrived with 2 familys and they accommodated us to have a room next door to each other. After checking in we had the option to have air conditioning. This was priced at 5 per day. The only downfall with this check in service was that there was no real welcoming, any lay out or talk of the complex which they need to improve on for guests if there were an emergency. Ie. MAP OF COMPLEX Safety deposit boxes are available (no charge) but make sure your key is the right one and works as ours didn't. Rooms: Our room was directed to us by one of the staff members of the complex. Room was spacious and clean but very very basic and needed updating.They had a hair dryer and WIFI so the Mrs was happy. PLEASE NOTE.. you can't cook from the rooms! Thats right...if you have a self catering room which I think the majority of the complex is they offer pretty much nothing to cook with... 1. NO MICROWAVE 2. NO OVEN 3. LIMITED CUTLERY AND UTENSILS 4. NO TOASTER 5. NO TV which only gives you the option to eat out every day where this can get expensive, especially if you have large families. They cleaned on a daily basis (bins etc) and towels were changed every 3 days. This again im unaware how often during normal circumstances due to covid. The Area: Sotiris offer 3 large pool areas which is great but not ideal for kids as they start from 800mm deep. There is a small kids pool near the bar area but this could get busy in peak season. Area 2.4m2 pool. Prices at the pool bar are expensive.. Premium alcohol is served there but no other in house spirits. I.e. Gordon's G and T 6 cocktails 8 euro..local beer (Zorbas) large 4. They also serve coffee, fresh juices and soft drinks. If you are looking for things to do around the area there isn't much to offer unless you want travel. This isn't really ideal if you have children. The beach is about a 5 minute walk from Sotiris offering an incredible sunset view in the evenings. (Photo) The beach is clean and tidy and also offers Sun loungers and parasols for a charge. (Awarded a 2020 blue flag award) There is a supermarket up the road which is very expensive to the right of the Sotiris Studios although you can get 9 litres of water for 2 but other amenities are pricey..there is a car rental service next door which is relatively good called Greek Stones..if you wish to travel around the island. Make sure you negotiate prices. You can get a bus into Argostoli where you can find all your tourist shops and supermarkets for your basic neccesaties. Pick up point is on the corner opposite Ammes Beach taverna 2 each way and takes around 30 to 40 mins to arrive there. (See photo for routes and times.) We tried out some of the restaurants in the area which were walking distance of the Sotiris and here are some recommendations. LA TAVELOTA KOUTOUPAS PARADISE (good children's menu) KALAPHATES (Argostoli) great service and the waiters give bread to feed the fish and they also have a rescued large turtle.(see photo). Situated along the harbour front. Overall I found that Sotiris Studios wasn't the greatest of places as hyped up to be on Facebook and other reviews. If you are looking for entertainment good places to eat out and tourists shops this certainly wouldn't be the ideal place to choose. Also alongside keeping children entertained can be a mission. I would rate this as a 2 to 3 star complex/accommodation. Thanks for taking the time to read my review please feel free to comment or ask any further questions.

  What a little gem of a complex 10 minutes from the airport - Central to travel the north and south of the island

  We had 10 beautiful days at the Sotiris. Arrived late but Peter kindly kept the bar open for us. On the second day we upgraded from B&B to half board for just 5E each. The two course meals were fantastic value. The carafe of sweet white wine went down well. The other pool bars were closed but we had use of the other pools which was really relaxing after a day exploring the Island. Greekstones do good deals on a small car and we found we needed one as prices in the local supermarkets were expensive, but convenient. Lidl and AB's over the hill, on the road to Argostolio helped us budget. There are a few tavernas within walking distance and a nice beach. There are two nice beaches on the other end of the airport and also at Al Helis. Staff at the hotel are very helpful and there is a chilled ambiance. After traveling further around the island we were welcomed back on our final day for a drink by the pool before our flight. Will definitely stay here again on our travels as its a fabulous base but you need transport if you like to explore. (The buses were restricted due to Covid).

  Lovely little Gem.

  We booked a last minute getaway and stumbled across this little gem. The studios are about a 5-10 minute cab ride from the airport at a cost of 18. Check in was quick and easy and we had a lovely room over looking the one of three swimming pools. The room was very big with a Queens size bed and a sofa bed & slept 3 people. There was a small kitchenette in the corner with an electric hob and a fridge. In the room there was a list of rules to follow during the Covid 19 outbreak & a small bottle of hand sanitizer to keep. All of the tables in the pool side restaurant had hand sanitizer on it & all staff were wearing face masks. The main pool in the studios was clean, tidy and the sun beds were really comfortable. There is a small local shop about a 5 minute walk outside the Studios which stocks a few basic things like bread, milk & cheese. Katerina who runs it is very helpful. Ammes Beach is about a 5 minute walk away from the Studios. They have sun loungers on them at a cost of 7 euros for a pair. There is a small beach bar that sells drinks and snacks in. There are a few local restaurants around the Studios that offer good local cuisine. Mills isnt one situated on the sea front. It offers a wide variety of cuisine and the food & service is fantastic. What is even better is the few of the sunset in the evenings. Please Note that the Studios are on the flight path to the airport, so expect some aeroplane noise during the day.
