  very nice place to stay

  A small hotel locate nearly the lake Wolfgangsee just across the street, easy to find it, new renovation, clean, and beautiful view form balcony, the price is cheap, the staff are helpful, friendly. The room Nr. 101 is very comfortable for family, four bed with guest room !! Just little bit thing Wi-Fi not so good!

  Nice hotel with good restaurant

  Beautiful and nice, gently people and a fresh, clean hotel. Good to reach. Breakfast ok, dinner ok, room nice and clean. Good bed, nice bathroom. Everything looks new. Serving people ar friendly, take time to talk with guests. Borders on the Wolfgangsee, nice view. Wifi is free, but works limited. We think the signal is not strong enough for the whole hotel.

  Very nice Hotel

  The Hotel Sonnwirt is a lovely hotel located very close to Wolfgangsee Lake, modern new renovate about 4year ago. The Staff are very nice, helpful, friendly the room was clean and breakfast was ok. Tipp! The Family the room at the corner 101 is very comfortable 2 bed room, living room with large balcony with nice lake views.

  Could do better

  Recently we went on a coach tour of the Salzburg area and stayed at this hotel which is located very conveniently in St Gilgen. Our double room was comfortable for us although others in our group with similar rooms were disappointed. Evening meals were basic and of a poor standard. Breakfast was okay. The beautiful Salzburg area is a wonderful place to visit and there are various places of interest to see. I'm sure if Hotel Sonnwirt could find a way to produce a much better evening meal this would make all the difference.

  Absolutely terrible. The complete opposite of any other guesthouse we stayed at in Austria.

  We payed extra for a lake view, which turned out to be very poor. The heating in the room didn't work. The toilet in the room allowed for very little privacy. Worst of all, after a few minutes of shower, we noticed all the water leaking through the door and got the room carpet soaked. When we told the manager about all this, he said he knew and made no effort to fix anything. On top of that the wifi hardly worked in our room and in the dining room. The only positive things about it were the decent breakfast and nice balcony in the room. It was the only hotel/guest house we stayed in at austria that we had a bad time in and the only one where the personnel were rude.
