Beautiful, relaxing getaway near SenigalliaWe were 2 couples staying for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. Barbara and Enzo go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect. Breakfasts were great with a selection of breads, fruit, jams, yogurt, tomatoes, a frittata and a homemade cake. The pool area is lovely and so relaxing - plus the pool is huge and great for swimming lengths if you want to. The rooms are so comfortable with modern, stylish decor and excellent bathrooms. We stayed in 2 rooms overlooking the most wonderful view and loved them - they have a/c which is great. The rest of the hotel is equally stylish - with a beautiful lounge and covered patio to enjoy all meals. We drove to the towns of Jesi and Corinaldo which are not far - Corinaldo is stunning - we enjoyed walking around the medieval steps, alleyways and piazzas and enjoyed a great meal there (You must try Nova Taverna for their imaginative take on a caprese salad!). We ate in the hotel 2 nights and had delicious, traditional meals beautifully cooked by Enzo - highlights were the vongole pasta, gelato and saffron risotto. Some vegetables / salad would have been welcomed but were not offered. The other 2 nights we explored Senigallia - what a great town - a beautiful centre, surrounded by stunning beaches (go north along the beach to find a more quiet spot). We had 2 incredible meals (try Hosteria la Posta for incredible fish dishes and Osteria Palazzo Barbarini for the best tuna ever!!!) and of course, excellent gelato. For a relaxing, unique hideaway in La Marche I would certainly recommend the Solea and would love to visit again. Thank you for everything Barbara and Enzo

A hidden gem in the hills of Senegallias backyardA good 10 minutes by car from Senegallia lies this beautiful albergo surrounded by sun-flower fields in the hills of Marche. Solea has a main house with approximately 8 standard-rooms and 2 separate houses where the superior rooms with terrace and an apartment with small kitchen are found. Next to the main house you find the big pool (approxm. 10m x 20m) which is big enough to swim some lanes if you are up to it, with beautiful views of the countryside. The Standard rooms feature A/C, walk-in rain-shower, amenities. The A/C can be noisy at night, if you have a light sleep, I recommend ear-plugs. It is also to note - as it nowadays taken for granted - that the rooms do not have TVs as part of the overall relaxing concept of Solea. Indeed, the hotel and the whole atmosphere is very relaxing. It is an ideal place to wind down and take a detox cure from the everyday stress. Barbara and Enzo are very kind and helpful and create a very nice familiar atmosphere, without being intrusive. Even in high season we never had the feeling that this place is too crowded, it always keeps a sense of peace and tranquility about it. The breakfast offers a variety of delicious homemade cakes, regional fruit and vegetables, bread and cheese, ingredients that come from the region and the meals are always light and fresh. Will come again.

Sophisticated minimalism created from a ruined farmhouse! Bravo! The philosophy of connecting heaven and earth is obvious. The nest, from which life emanates, chosen as the logo designed by Barbara and Enzo, is the emblem of the complete rejuvenation that can be gained from staying in this establishment. Everything from the novel curtains, to the open glass roof, through which you can connect to the sky and the stars above, accentuate this theme. The use of local ingredients, materials, artists and suppliers has been mandatory. Barbara is proud to exhibit products from the local community. Enzos food is exceptional. He only uses ingredients that he can source from the local area. On our first evening, we had as a starter, a seafood bisque made from local seafood, including fregola sarda, shrimps, crabs, "boca in cava", Ashley, Scorpion fish, cuttlefish, mussels and vongole, which was uniquely served in preservative jars. For our primi, we had home-made orechiette with a local shrimp and artichokes; for our secondi piatti, we had the most delicious, moist sword fish with a salmoriglio sauce, made from parsley, olive oil, lemon, garlic and oregano, drizzled over it and served with grilled zucchini . Our dolce was panna cotta topped with Vin Santo and cinnamon. Such a good idea! We asked Barbara to recommend a wine to accompany our dinner. She chose a 100% Verdicchio wine from Villa Bucci, which is a Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 2016. It was superb. Unfortunately, the weather for our second day was extremely inclement and we decided to stay indoors and enjoy the hotel and some quiet time. We did get to see Stage 2 of the Giro dItalia 2019, which went from Vinci to Orbetello on the television. Our second dinner in-house comprised thinly sliced cuttle fish sitting on a bed of puréed broad beans; for our secondi piatti, we had a basket of frito della mare, which we enjoyed eating with our fingers. The shrimp were so well cooked at 180 degrees C, that you could eat the entire thing! For dolce, we had mille feuille with a chocolate filling served with stewed mulberries. For our wine, Barbara suggested a Monacesca, a Verdicchio di Matelica 2016, which went very well with our meal. Our breakfasts were great as well. The formaggi and the beautiful tomatoes, the muesli, yoghurt, fruit and croissants were all enjoyed. This was the coldest May in 60 years. Barbara and Enzo had made a fire and used a copper pipe as a bellows, which was fascinating to watch! Unfortunately, it was too cold to swim in the lovely swimming pool. Grazie mille, Barbara and Enzo!
