    Nice resort, great for families

The hotel is a 4 stara, part of the Sol Nessebar Resort. It is situated between the village Ravda and the Unesco site Nessebar town. The Resort has a really nice territory, the aquapark is a good advantage as well( though it has a really strange working hourrs, two of the slides are usable only 2 hours within the day, and the aquapark closes.at 4.30 p.m). The resort doesn't have its own beach, there is a public beach which is not well maintained and is not one of the best beaches you can find on the Black sea coast. The hotel room is big, clean with balcony. The bed was not really comfortable for me.but was ok. Food in the restaurant is good, one can always choose several good things, a lot of fresh fruit are offered. The main minus is there is not a bar in the restaurant and you should go one floor up at the lobby bar to have a stronger.drink. In the.restaurant beer and wine are offered though. Animation team is a good plus.for the resort.

Old, noisy, bugs in beds and aircondition

Old food. Bugs in beds. Beds small and uncomfortable. Circa 1000 small children around. Very noisy. Beach small and rocky. 10 euros per day beach service. Got allergy and food poisoning. Very bad quality food. Even fruits were from some frozen places. Drinks cocktails coffee heavy with sugar. 99 percent of food and drinks was artificial, sugary and from bad chepeast sources. Very bad general quality price ratio. Overpriced and noisy. 99 percent of guests are from former communist block.

    Fantastic resort.

Recently came back from Bulgaria after being on holiday for 10 days. The resort is lovely and it has a mini water park, fantastic for everyone of all ages. There are slides for younger children to use as well. The view looking out to the sea is gorgeous. The food was ok, quite basic, but to be fair it is an all inclusive resort. The tea and coffee they have on offer arent great, if you like a good strong cup of tea then dont bother as you would be very disappointed, there are also a fantastic selection of drinks at the bars, though if you go for the unbranded soft drinks that are to go at the bar, they taste awful. The rooms were spacious as well, if you have a sea view room on the 7th floor then it has a fantastic view. All of the staff work very hard and are very pleasant. The place is very spotless and you cant fault them for their work. Also, the pool water was very, very cold, was a shock to the system, though youd appreciate it more if the weather was 30+ degrees. If youre getting a taxi anywhere, make sure you check the price before travel. There is a price list in reception. The taxis outside of the resort have their charges, so would recommend taking a copy of the price list so you can barter with them. Overall we had a lovely holiday and very impressed with the hotel.

    Family holiday

After reading mixed reviews I was worried I had made the right decision in booking. With two teenage boys wanting a water park and a vegan worrying about her food choices but I shouldn't have worried. The Mare is part of the resort which includes bay and palace. Some of the facilities are shared and some are exclusive to certain parts. The pool at the palace is very lively with music and games so we preferred the quieter one at the Mare. There is a water taxi to take you to the old town but when we went to get it no-one turned up so we ended up taking a taxi which was cheaper anyway. The beach is small but if you walk a few yards along you can access the part where you can hire sunbeds and parasols. The sunbeds for the hotel are not on the beach but on terraces and there is a bar where you can self serve drinks and snacks are available at certain times of the day. Food I'll start with my grand daughter who struggles to eat out because of her lifestyle choice. She needn't have worried. The choices for her were excellent and she wasn't destined to eat salads all week. There was lots of food to choose from and freshly cooked options. Seafood was abundant with prawns cooked fresh. The snack bar food was obviously not as exciting or good and there was often long queues for the pretzels which quickly ran out. The tapas is a bit of a disappointment as it is just small bowls of olives etc so didn't bother. The cakes for afternoon tea are delicious and I would recommend getting one of these as an alternative to the cake desserts on offer in the restaurant. The sushi bar again disappointing with dry offerings as were the sandwiches available after 11pm. Drinks Good choice and 55 cocktails to work your way through. If you want them a bit stronger ask for a double measure. Beer and wine available in the restaurant along with fizzy and still drinks but not all branded drinks ie coke available outside the restaurant. Rooms Good size and clean. We had a park view but the park is a piece of waste land across the road from the hotel. Housekeeping was good and rooms kept nice and clean with dispensers for shampoo and shower gel. Air conditioning good and comfy beds. Location About 10 minutes drive into the old town. Taxis are waiting outside and charge 20 lev, carrying up to 6 people. Make sure you take the number of the driver to come and pick you up as taxi drivers in the old town tried to charge us up to 40 lev for the same journey. Just ring the driver who rought you and they will pick you up for the same 20 lev (minus tip) Across the road is the free bus stop for the water park which is about 10 minutes away. Mini buses can get full so be prepared to get cosy or wait for the next one. All in all pleased with the hotel and would recommend for all ages.

    Fabulous holiday

Very well maintained hotel. Pleasant, friendly staff, most had a smile at some point during the day! The food was very edible, a lot was repeated every night, mainly the salads, cold meats, cheeses etc. The hot food was varied each night. Always something for my fussy children to eat! Rose wine was very nice, the lager however, was very gassy, pour slowly. All the swimming pools were clean and well maintained. The water slides were fun, if a little crowded at peak times. Loads of shade and brollies, if you moved around. Having direct access to the beach was a great bonus, as we all love a snorkel in the swim, lots of fish to see. Evening entertainment was good, but should be on a 14 day repeat and not 7 day, as we saw some shows twice! The magician left a lot to be desired, even the children worked out how he did the tricks! Rooms were always clean, with fresh towels every day, even when we didnt need them. Complete mix of nationalities, stopped it feeling like Butlins! Evening thunderstorms were fun and stopped it feeling too hot and stuffy. Happy holiday, children were sad to leave.
