  Not clean!!!!

  This place is bordering on disgusting! Absolutely filthy rooms. The bedspreads were awful and the blankets outright dirty. Had stains, dirt and hair on them. I used a blanket from my car that I use for my dogs. It is old and needs updating but the fact that it was not clean was what made it so bad. They take dogs which is the only reason we ended up here. Awful!

  Pleasantly Surprised

  Stayed here as part of a school ski trip and was quite worried after reading a lot of negative reviews. I have to say that the place was no where near as bad as some of the reviews made it out to be. Yes, it is very dated and not cleaned to the highest standard but it served us pretty well. The owners were very nice and provided us with a lovely breakfast every morning and a different hot meal every evening. Personally, I wouldn't book this hotel if I was going on a family holiday but as part of a large school ski group, it was perfectly fine.

  great experience

  was a little leery but when i was there the inn was great . nice clean room queen and full bed , flat screen tv good storage space . bathroom clean and modern . great pool, sitting area on each floor with books and microwave, elevator, ok breakfast.couldn`t be closer to the center. Steve at front desk was super very helpful with everything. despite some reviews i thought place was great would go back

  STAY AWAY

  Would I recommend Snowy Owl to a friend? ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Everything from start to finish was a disaster. First when I made my reservation (way back in January) I was sent a confirmation email with the completely wrong dates. Had to call 2x to get a confirmation with the correct dates. Then it comes to our stay- the room was beyond rustic. It was massively dated. The blinds in the window were broken, didnt keep the light out in the AM, and was literally broken with broke pieces (this room should also have drapery) which made it uncomfortable to change in the bedroom part for fear of someone seeing from the outside. The ice machine being way down in the depths of a dark basement also wasnt pleasant to go to (and it was 8pm. Not like it was super late). The curtain in the shower didnt event extend the whole shower doorway, resulting in a wet floor when exiting. The bed couldnt have been any more uncomfortable. I think between the two nights I got an hour of sleep. The free breakfast is something I wouldnt serve to my dog. My donut was stale. The WiFi was atrocious and kept kicking us off (and was the WiFi password created by having a cat walk across the keyboard?). Then to find out our friends were in the same Inn and found bodily fluids in their room took the cake for me. We have a family wedding at Waterville valley resort next summer and I have already let the family know to not book at snowy owl. It makes the red roof inn look like the ritz. During checkout, someone was babysitting a toddler behind the front desk. Massively unprofessional.

  Great promise

  In light of some of the unfavorable reviews, I've had a series of super pleasant stays. Change of ownership is difficult, especially during a pandemic when resources are scant. But the Snowy Owl Inn had 'done good' for us. Communications were excellent, we loved the fireplace and appreciated all the reminders to mask up. Housekeeping was very helpful and brought things that we needed. The continental breakfast is great. My little boy and I love the warm croissants. He's got his cereal and milk and I've got a range of fruit to choose from. If I need something or put my head in the kitchen, they're both helpful and friendly. What I loved most about the Snowy Owl was that we were able to bring our dog. Not everyone's a dog lover and the Snowy Owl has accommodated those with allergies, or simply don't care for dogs, by having a hallway just for pets and the rest of the Inn for everyone else. How great is that? There were non-pet owners that were so happy to interact with our dog. If you'd like something or need something, they're happy to help. I've traveled extensively, and the Snowy Owl Inn is simply a wonderful Waterville Valley gem.
