Very pleasantMy girlfriend and I stayed one night and had a very pleasant visit. Ruth is a friendly host and made us feel welcome. Our room was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. We are not into overdone decor and trappings. Smithfield is comfortable, grand but not pretentious. It is a very old manor house on a working farm. We enjoyed our stay and do so again.

So peacefulWe stayed two nights and found Smithfield Farm B&B to be quiet and relaxing. Ruth and Betsy are welcoming and informative inn keepers. The house is gorgeous, well furnished, and quiet. There are a few rooms for reading and relaxing, and a nice garden area out back as well. Betsy made hearty and amazing breakfasts using some of their own farm-fresh products. Our room (Wellford)was tastefully furnished with a large en-suite bathroom. We felt it a privilege to stay in this grand historical home. Check our their farm store on the property for homemade jams, honey, and their own meat products. Hope to return to this fabulous B&B!

First of many visits to this wonderful B&BWe booked a room for one night when the chance came to get away from our kids for a night for a belated 15th Anniversary celebration. What a wonderful choice it turned out to be! This is a beautifully appointed B&B with friendly, attentive inn keepers - Ruth was so welcoming and gracious, taking the time to show us around and ensure we were settled in when we arrived, and spending a lot of time talking with us about how she and her late husband restored the property. Her daughter Betsy prepared the best breakfast I've had in years - most of the ingredients came straight from the farm, and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. We booked the "Honeymoon" cottage - the former summer kitchen. Even during a historic heat wave, the building was cool and comfortable, and the main house was fully stocked with cool drinks and thoughtful extras - sunscreen in case we'd forgotten any, light snacks and beverages. The property is quiet, peaceful, and well-maintained. Because of the heat wave, we didn't hike much, but did enjoy lazing in the hammock in the shade, listening to the sounds of the country. We loved everything about this place and the family that runs it. We ended our stay by visiting the Smith Meadows fair store on the property, and stocked up a large cooler worth of fresh eggs and meat. We will definitely return as often as we can, and refer our friends to this wonderful get-away.

Overnight in HeavenOn our way back from Chautauqua, NY we made plans to stay at the Smithfield Farm B&B. Having never stayed there we did not know what to expect other than what we saw on the website. What an incredible surprise! The house has been lovingly restored by the owners over an 11 year time frame and is decorated with exquisite tastes. The location is in the middle of an organic farm managed by the 8th generation of the original family who still farm the land. The wonderful night and morning we spent there was wonderful.....peaceful, and invigorating. We would certainly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Great stop amid QuarantineOur family (incl. 2 small kids) made a special trip to the farm from inside the beltway to pick up some farm fresh proteins and to just kill some weekend time. The country air and beautiful scenery felt especially decadent amid this quarantine. Cant wait to enjoy some farm fresh omelettes and grass fed beef burgers soon! Will be back!
