What a great relaxing and exciting place! The staff are fabulous!

My wife and I stayed at a Sleeping giant Creek side lodge recently for 4 nights and it was magical! The staff was extremely attentive and just really wonderful (Doris - Receptionist extraordinaire, Chefs Rahim (Executive Chef), Cynthia, and Francis, Richard, Jessica, Alex, and of course, Edgar) The food and the drinks were really innovative and delicious. The property is beautiful and very restful. We took tours of the Mayan ruins, Cave Tubing, Hiking, etc... and Orlin (our guide) was the absolute best).

    Beautiful resort

My boyfriend and I just stayed here for his birthday. The entire staff was very welcomingespecially the front desk agents! The property is amazing! They have bikes to borrow and trails to hike. We heard howling monkeys and tons of birds. Even saw a long tailed fluffy mammal! I stayed in the mountain suite with the plunge pool and definitely recommend it. We came as travelers and left as friends!

    Magical and Romantic Getaway

We were here 6 years ago.we loved it so much we decided to come back again! Last time we stayed at Almond Beach for 4 nights and here for 4 nights.that seemed to be about enough time to enjoy the resort and get a few tours in. This time we couldnt goto Tikal as the boarders were closed, so we did the Xunantunich and Cahal Pech mayan tour and the St. Hermans cave tubing. Anyhowlast time we didnt walk around the Sleeping Giant resort, so we made a point to explore and hike around the property. The property has 4 suspension bridges and gazebo on top the hill with amazing 360 view of the area. Theres the Sibun river that you can kayak and paddle board. The resort pool is also amazing. Last time we were here, we also felt like we had the resort to our selves. The rooms/casitas were so far apart, you rarely saw others. We stayed in Casita 5 last time and this time they had us at Creek Side Cottage #9both locations were great and very private. Both had indoor walk in shower and outdoor shower and tub. Great private covered patio with hammock and a creek running by it. Staff was amazing here too. Some of them were shy, but once they got to know us, they really opened up and just very accommodating to our needs. We had couples massage in our room which was incredible. Food here was more limited. Youre limited to only eating on the resort as theres nothing else nearby, unless you have transportation to drive somewhere. But they change their menu everyday and again we were able to persuade the chefs to make more local foods/flavors for us to experience. Tips for your trip here.bring bug spray with 25% deet, water shoes and hiking shoes! Extra bathing suits as they dont dry due to the humidityafter all you are in the rainforest. It does rain a lot.. Fortunate for us, it rained mostly at night or early morningit was great during the day! Oh and bring flashlight for walking out to the Grove and back to your rooms Also last time we were here (in December 2014) we saw a ton of fire flies, it just made this place feel magical. Not that it wasnt this time (in January 2021), and this time we saw more peacock, ducks, toucans and other birds. I would highly recommend staying here and we would come back again! We stayed 4 nights at the The Lodge at Jaguar Reef at Almond beach and 4 nights here at Sleeping Giant Rainforest Lodge. This was my 50th Birthday trip. We absolutely would come back again! Wifi/Internet this time was much better, they still do not have wifi at the casita/cottagesbut they have WiFi at the Grove, pool side and Lobby area.before it was only at the a small corner of the patio at The Grove. This was a very magical and romantic getaway. Anywayswe highly recommend this place.

Amazing experience in the rainforest at Sleeping Giant

This is an incredible hotel. Property is huge, with plenty of activities on site. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Beautiful hotel tucked away in nature. Wifi in the rooms would be a great addition, but strong wifi was reliable at the lobby, restaurant, and pool.

    Sleeping giant

The resort was absolutely beautiful. The grounds were stunning. The hiking trails amazing. The rooms were gorgeous. My only reservations would be the kayak launching area was dangerous. My friend cut his foot on the rocks which made the rest of the trip unpleasant. The food was very expensive and the portions were small. Breakfast was not so good. There was no other place on the grounds to buy drinks or snacks . My recommendations would be to fix the kayak launching area and provide a small store to sell essential items.
