More like boutique or art hotel than 4 starsThe disadvantages of this hotels are - The price and the quality of the breakfast. - The smell of gas near the elevator. - Our room (44) was small and the bathroom was pretty simple. - Some paintings in the room were unpleasant. - The TV didn't work well. The Advantages of the hotel: The location couldn't be better, as the center of attraction in the city is the cathedral and Kant tomb which are 200 meters away. In general, this is the only small part of the which is renovated a la konigsberg and if you want to stay in the city, this is the best place to stay.

Good view and locationAll rooms have a nice view over Pregel river, some rooms also have small balconies. Skipper is within walking distance from most attractions and this building complex is one of the few city's attractions itself. Restaurant downstairs is outstanding and definitely one of the best in the city. Rooms are looking somewhat tired and design choices are questionable. Still, well worth the money. Unless you are planning to stay somewhere much more expensive, it's a good option.

Very decent and not expensive
We spent only one night there, but we loved it. Although we didn't have a chance to have breakfast, but we did get an apple before leaving. The rooms are cozy and have a wonderful view on the river and on the main Königsberg Cathedral. Everything is clean, they provide nice shampoos and soap. The atmosphere in the hallways is antique and filled with some kind of history. Very nice, and not that expensive. I recommend it even for more than one night. :)

Most uncomfortable bedThe mattress feels more like a block of wood than anything you'd typically call a mattress. The bedding was sewn circa 1971 and has only ever been dusted twice. Avoid this place or bring an inflatable mattress!

I loved it.We stayed here during the world cup. English was spoken overall pretty well. The front desk spoke excellent English. The breakfast was 5 star including champagne. The food was amazing. Beautiful dining room as well. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable enough. There was a nice balcony and we enjoyed opening the doors and looking out. Minibar and TV are in room as well. If I ever went back to Kaliningrad, I would absolutely stay here again. The manager did not speak English but he was still awesome and made sure we were taken care of. The guy working nights and long hours at the reception desk was the bomb. He made us laugh and he was so helpful. There is a grocery store across the street which was nice to have close as well. I would say this is a mid-range hotel. I also felt this hotel was very clean. We had no issues with cleanliness.
