  Excelente SPA , personal mejorable

  Buenas instalaciones espaciosas habitaciones y con vistas. Las camas pequeñas blandas y malas . En el restaurante cobran por el agua del grifo. El personal excepto alguna excepción es bastante antipático y solo se preocupa de cobrar los extras.

  Wow, stylish hotel with customer service at it's best

  From the rooms to the food to the staff, cannot fault this place. Note that the adult wellness area is strictly no textiles - nudity is mandatory - but not in the relaxation area where you can sleep, read or just stare at the mountain views.

  Absolutely Wonderful

  We have been going to this hotel now for almost 20 years and it never fails to impress. Over that time the management have extended and improved the hotel to its current extremely high standard. There is ample underground car parking and a warm welcome from the staff when you arrive in the hotel lobby. The rooms are large by normal hotel standards, and some, like the newly refurbished Schermerkar are enormous with views over the ski slopes. There is an excellent shop for ski rental/purchase and easy access to the ski slopes via an internal walkway and lift which takes you directly to the piste from the boot room, avoiding the need to walk anywhere outside in your boots. The ski area is very quiet and having to wait for a lift for more than a couple of minutes is almost unheard of. There is a cable car for a ten minute ride over to Obergurgl included in your ski pass should you want to extend your skiing to other pistes but make sure you're back on the last one before the end of the day. The areas are mostly blue and red runs with a few black, probably not ideal if you're an advanced skier who likes to go off piste and 'test yourself' but very good for family skiing and those who just like to enjoy themselves and take in the view, which from the top of the mountain is amazing. There is a 'wellness' area but be aware that it is a nude area although there is an excellent swimming pool with another sauna should you wish to remain clothed and a relaxing area where you can watch the world go by outside. A recently installed spa on the fifth floor gives lovely views of the valley whilst luxuriating outside in the warm water - this is especially nice when it's snowing. Breakfast is both buffet and à la carte with ample choice of food and the evening meal is usually several courses consisting of a starter, soup, salad, main and dessert. They also have speciality evenings such as Austrian night and Dessert night with the most amazing array of sumptuous sweets and cakes. In the late afternoon there is also a cake buffet in the bar for guests. Apart from ski rental/purchase, the hotel shop also has some good quality items of clothing and a few holiday necessities/snacks. If you've forgotten anything major you may need to go to Obergurgl where there are a few more shops or travel down to Sölden which has a larger variety of shops. However to get to Sölden you would need to use a car whereas with Obergurgl you can go over on the ski lift, ski into the village then go back assuming your requirements will fit into your rucksack! Alternatively Obergurgl is a ten minute drive. The hotel is always often quite full but that shows the standard of service is high. Having said that it never seems over busy and the hotel is large enough to be able to accommodate a sizeable number of people. Hochgurgl itself is very quiet with little après ski apart from the hotel bar itself and a couple of bars in other hotels. The hotel occasionally has a group playing but there is very little in the way of a vibrant 'night life & disco and no clubs at all - but that's the way we like it and the nice thing about the place. Be aware that this hotel is at 2200m and during the winter the road is more than likely going to be covered with snow. Therefore you need to ensure that you have the correct snow tyres and/or chains as the last part of the journey up the mountain is quite a steep road, but its worth it.

  Best of Gurgl

  This was my second time and again I was left very impressed. One of the best experiences one can have at a hotel. Great, comfortable, cozy accommodations and great meals. The staff is very very attentive to every detail. We shall go back again.

  good service.... specially when we arrived to the Hotel, and they helped us to unload our car, and took care of the ski.... this is a very good begining of the Holiday. The apartment 20 was large, nice balcony, view was not excelent. Nice food and it is very good to have a option from the menu card. Good idea.
