  Great Thai Restaurant -

  ++This is not a review about the Hotel ++ ++This is a review about the restaurant of Surin Hotel++ Had lunch with friends at the Surin Hotel. It was fantastic. The food was fresh and tasteful, the staff very friendly and attentive. It was a very great and positive experience and it is worth while visiting this restaurant for lunch or dinner.   Modest hotel in great location

  This is the third time we have stayed in this modest hotel. Previously we have been in Room 212 this time it was 206, both of which are in fact on the 1st floor. We love the location right in the centre and although the street is a major intersection with the main road it's not too busy and relatively quiet. The room itself is spacious and the twin beds more 3/4 size rather than proper singles. Breakfast is simple but adequate, staff as always obliging and delightful. My DH always wants a balcony so he can enjoy the afternoon and evening outside the room. Perhaps it's our age but we found the air conditioning unit which sits on the balcony spitting out burst of heat a bit of a disadvantage this trip as was the fact that the balconies faced the afternoon sun. I need to add that all the balconies at the hotel are the same in this regard. The wifi in the room was excellent and the TV stations available also excellent. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in rooms. The hotel has a pool but we did not use it. There were a few minor annoyances which could easily be remedied - the safety deposit box combination no longer worked but we were able to use a key provided by reception, the hot water was barely lukewarm and we had some concerns about the balcony door which appeared to have been tampered with in the past. We were also a bit concerned that the 206 balcony could have been easily accessed from surrounding rooftops. Should we stay again we would request any of Rooms 210 to 207.

  Prime location

  With its close proximity to the beach, restaurants and the entertainment district it would be difficult to find a better place for the price. My stay here was pleasant with the deluxe room being spacious although slightly out of date. The free breakfast was basic but the portion size quite large. The employees where some of the fines people I have ever dealt with. A great combination.

  Yummy

  We also ate at the hotel's restaurant and were very pleased with food, the service and also the COVID19 precautions being taken. My wife had a Thai dish which she would reckon at three stars but I had one of the best Chicken and mushroom soup ever - a five star soup!

  Restaurant review (not hotel)

  We ate at the restaurant only. The deep fried battered chicken pieces and garlic cloves was delicious! Fresh and crispy. The mixed vegetables were just as tasty. Plus 2 small Leo beers = 370 baht. My friend's carbonara was great too.
