  Lovely hotel

  The hotel nice, rooms comfortable, beautiful garden with tons of flowers, another part with a pool and deck chairs for sunbathing, a little bar, and own beach area, quiet an not too touristy. The sea is quite rocky but we saw some pretty fish. The roads are narrow and not very good in the area.

  Avoid SILVER  SUN Hotel in Malia, Crete

  SILVER  SUN Hotel in Malia, has the most unfriendly and rude staff of Greece. During our tour of the island of Crete, we stoped at the Silversun Hotel & Apartments in Malia, looking for a room. A woman at the reception, in a very unfriendly way, told us that they had one, but that we should have paid in advance for the room and wait until next morning to get the receipt, or otherwise leave our passports in her hands. I replied that she could have copied our names and the other info and leave the passports with us. The woman replied no to my question. This unusual and unkind request (first time in years since we come to Greece) made us feel that there was no trust in our honesty, as if we would have ran away without paying. I asked the woman why she was treating us with such a discourtesy. But, being really annoyed by my observations, she replied with arrogance: "Now, I do not want to give you the room anymore". Leaving us without a room to stay for the night, she created for us a serious problem of accommodation, in the peak of the tourist season. This woman, with her behavior dishonours the traditional greek hospitality and should not be working in a hotel.

  Idilic location

  We were lucky enough to spend 2 weeks at the family run apartments . There are about 20/25 rooms which are cleaned every day . Its ideal for a quiet relaxed get away with the best location . Very helpful and friendly staff , you are a 20 minute walk from the centre of Malia or a 10 taxi ride into Stalis. There are 5 or 6 really good Tavernas within a 10 - 15 min stroll .

  Wonderful

  Perfect location right on the beach away from the dross in Malia. There are a number of wonderful tavernas all within a 15 min walk Great rooms, good size with free air con and a double balcony. Great pool and bar area that heads straight onto the beach. Amazing place to relax

  Great hotel!

  I stayed here with family in September just as COVID-19 restrictions were tightening. The hotel is great, right on the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants. The hotel owners are lovely, Eva and Katerina are super helpful and lovely. The grounds are kept so well with such gorgeous flowers. The rooms are good sizes. We had a side sea view, the bed was two singles pushed together so a really good size, nice and modern. Good sized balcony. The only slight downside was the size of the shower however the rest of the hotel more than made up for it. The pool is super clean and there were plenty of sun beds, you have to spray them down before and after use which is good. There are also 2 comfy double day beds that are set slightly away from the pool. The food at the pool bar is decent and there is a really nice fish restaurant just 2 minutes walk away in the port. The beach is great and the sea gorgeous, it is a bit rocky but there are some sand paths that you can walk out on.
