  Cerca de todo, escondido en un bosque

  Aliki y Maria sin dudas entre las mejores representantes de la excelente hospitalidad griega.Llegamos al Silo por casualidad y nos encanto la ubicacion,asi que decidimos cambiar de hotel; los departamentos tan amplios y con balcon al jardin! un lugar muy tranquilo para descansar , la manera en que nos recibio Maria hizo que nos fueramos de Argostoli a Lassi. La ubicacion es excelente , a pasos del mar, entre bosques de pinos y muy cerca de restaurantes, bares, mercado de Lassi.Recorrimos la isla con Theodore, un gran guia que nos mostro Kefalonia como solo un lugareño puede hacerlo, fuera de los circuitos para turistas y llevandonos a las mejores playas.

  Silo hotel has gone. So very sad

  Having booked last May for a 6th visit to Silo appts in May19, I was so disappointed to be informed that Silo had been sold to the Adjacent Thalassa..Silo was everything Thalassa is Not. The friendly staff at Silo were the life and soul of the place with their Caring and genuine attention from the cleaners, the pool bar staff and owner. This has all gone, the Thalassa.may be boutique ,but the Staff are overstated and oversupervised, and are obviously unhappy as lots are leaving.You can meet someone once, and the next day they have left.!!!!. The pool bar which was the heart of Silo , run famously by Effie,Maria and Mirella, wasn't even open in May 19. You could get lunch at Thalassa, but very small portions and very expensive!!!! The loss of Silo is a big disappointment ,not only to us, but to many other return visitors we spoke to. One said to me that he would not return and we won't either. Silo has gone forever with all the friendly staff and fellow visitors and that is so ,so sad

  Disappointed

  We arrived at 9.30pm to find Reception at Silo closed, also wee shop and restaurant gone. Someone directed us to the Thalassa reception. Could not fault room or room service except maids turned up a few mornings about 8.30am to clean room which I thought was a bit early. Definitely missed owners and staff from last May.

  Our first trip to Kefalonia

  When we arrived the hospitality was great, were were shown around the accommodations and everything went fine from then on. The staff was very helpful and happy to help with everything. Definitely a great experience and without their help it would not have been. Special thanks to Mohammed for always being thoughtful and enthusiastic about his stories. The best luck to you my friend.   Be realistic about The Silo

  Having Stayed here twice over past 3 years, I was disappointed last Autumn. Silo and near offers a basic set of apartments, in a good location, with a pool and a poolside bar, on this beautiful island.In this more modern era, I guess we have come to expect a few given basics, and Its time for a rethink as to what they are here. I think they have been sold now, so perhaps an improvement plan is in place; The challenges wer;e, a somewhat inadequate kitchen( if you choose to cook) and a far than adequate bathroom which had a 1980s feel with shower cabinet etc. Time for fresh mattresses,a lick of paint and some work on the landscape around the grounds. Greece is charming and Cephalonia is beautiful, and I think my point here is that were this a B and B and priced like a B and B I wouldn't be pointing these aspects out; Its just worth noting , that its not about the price , its all about the value. This set of apartments needs to be realistic about its offering and grade and price itself accordingly, and what we £ paid was not with this very basic accommodation in mind.
