  Siesta Key Bungalows

  We stayed for three nights in the Sunset cottage. The cottage has a shabby chic quaint charm although the bathroom and kitchen areas could use a little work. Lovely pool area which we used a lot. The water in the pool was so warm it felt like taking a bath. Bikes were available free to use. They also advertised kayaks free for use, but only had a child available as a previous patron had not tied the other two to the dock and they floated away. The location is on the quieter end of Siesta Key closer to Turtle beach and sits directly on Heron lagoon which we loved. Overall a great stay and would stay here again.

  Not what I expected

  Booked for a 4 day get away but did not expect what we were getting ready to encounter. Checked in Sunday afternoon to something I wish I had looked into better before booking. Old buildings not in the best shape for what we paid. Leg on kitchen table came loose and almost dumped our food items on floor, inside door knob was loose and was hard to open the door. Tub had most of the enamel peeled off the bottom and was covered by a old rubber mat that I would not stand on. Tv did not have standard cable but firestick or whatever it was , told by attendant that if we wanted to watch to we could sign in on our own tv provider. Internet sucked, kept getting kicked off for reasons unknown. That night got woke up at 4 am by loud noise loud talking and arguing in courtyard area, and no staff on property they leave at pm and no security. Very unsat. No one to call or get in touch with until next morning. This place needs major upgrades. Night 2 my wife became ill and had to leave for Dr. could not return to the property because of her condition, called office next morning and explained situation but the only way they would communicate was by email. Told me that no refund unless they had the unit rented, there was only 3 other families there the time we were there. That place is not as busy as they let on. Will never go there again and will never recommend that place. Nicer cheaper places to stay besides there.

  Short getaway

  The place is clean and quiet. Good enough for a short stay or If you plan to just use it to sleep. Amenities are very limited. The place faces the lagoon not the ocean. The pool is clean but very small. Bikes and Kayaks very old and in need of maintenance.

  Quiet time.

  Quaint, cozy, quiet little get away. A nice escape from all the noise. I enjoyed the the location and the old-school setting. Highly recommend for a solo retreat or a couples get away. I'm disappointed that "Tripadvisor" will not accept my review unless I have at least 200 words. It's a good reason for people to not offer reviews.

  Wonderful vacation

  Stayed in Sunset bungalow with kids. Absolutely loved it, even extended our stay for 2 extra nights. The pool is heated, the beach is about a mile away (there is a free island trolley at the door). Loved our porch and outdoor chairs. The property is on the canal, husband and kids went fishing right off the dock and we all really enjoyed water views. There are also offer kayaks and bikes that we did not use. You can grill there too, bring charcoal. Friendly employees. Now, this is still your 70es Florida. The gardens and location are absolutely beautiful but units are in need of renovations, so dont expect much in terms of comfort. Some lights dont work, no cable, no TV in the bedroom. Bring your own pool towels as the ones provided were old, bring extra dishes or plastic plates as there are only 4 sets. The couch in the living room is for kids only. With some investment this place would be a true gem. Still loved it. We will be back.
