  Convenient location and very good service

  Just arrived at the hotel and it was extremely convenient getting to the hotel using the airport shuttle number 1 from the Chengdu airport. The check-in was very easy and the service is excellent. Looking forward to a wonderful stay in Chengdu.

  A good solid four star hotel

  Great location, just opposite the fading glory that is the Jinjiang Hotel ( Chengdu's first five star hotel) This busy medium sized hotel caters for a mainly Chinese middle class market but they do have staff with pretty good English! The ground floor restaurant, Cafe Gigi dishes up a quality buffet dinner daily from 5.30. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The swimming pool is outdoor so closed in winter, but it is a good depth when open. Service above average for China. If you visit Chengdu you could do worse than stay here.

  Fantastic Hotel and Great Service

  My huge room had an enormous bed with the most amazing linen and choice of pillows. Spotlessly clean with lots of wardrobe space and facities - and stunning views of the skyscrapers (even more impressive after sunset). The bathroom was equally impressive with a wet-room type shower. Both rooms were beautifully decorated. There were also a selection of (wired-in) cables band connectors to hook-up to most mobiles, tablets or PC's. The customer service from all of the staff was exceptional. Very friendly, very welcoming. A huge range of dishes available at breakfast. Highly recommended.

  Everything you need with lovely service

  We stayed here for two nights on the non smoking floor 14. The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom was cleverly laid out with a huge walk-in shower and WiFi was excellent and free. The breakfast had everything you could want. Out of sheer tiredness we ate in the buffet restaurant tonight and it was excellent. Chefs on hand to prepare fresh food (mutton chops were fab), an endless array of desserts and fruit and really lovely creamy ice-cream. It gave me a chance to try many new dishes and szechuan heat!!! Not particularly cheap 180Y each, but a slow relaxed meal. We will stay here again.

  Adequate but staff seems impolite with foreigners

  The hotel is modern with a nice lobby and rooms. Though they told us the hotel has no connecting rooms (hard to believe in such a large property) and put a family of 4 in adjacent rooms instead. The breakfast spread was excellent. Dinner was underwhelming. We ate much better buffets about the same price in Beijing and Xian. What ticked us off big time was the attitude we sensed from the staff. Perhaps they are not trained with the right cultural awareness to interact respectfully with Indian guests, but they more than once treated us like imbeciles who have no idea how to travel in a foreign country or stay at a nice hotel. Never happened to us before anywhere else in the world or even in Beijing or Xian. One afternoon, when our boys went to the pool, as they were about to enter the pool, a staff member comes running, gesturing not to enter. Then another staff member comes and talks to us in broken English - are the adults going in the pool (in street clothes! Of course not), then says the boys need to be in swim shorts (duh, which of course they were!), then points to Chinese guests wearing tight, short swim shorts saying only that kind is allowed (barely believes us that the shorts our boys are wearing are swimwear, though a longer style is common in the US), then tells us boys must wear hats (ok - no problem, tell us your practice and we bought temp hats for the boys to use). There was complete lack of awareness that in another part of the world, a different style of swimwear may be used or that boys dont typically wear hats. The presumption being their way is the only way and communicating this in a presumptuous, disrespectful way to paying guests.
