  Wonderful base to explore the Island

  Just returned from a 5-night stay at Shiralee, which we found to be an excellent place in which to base ourselves. The facility was exactly as described by others - modern, clean, and centrally located. It was great to be able to walk into town. The whole experience showed attention to detail - from the personalised pick-up and return to the airport to the little inclusions in the cottage - esky, ice block, books on local history etc. Coral and David were excellent hosts - always pleasant and willing to help. We particularly liked being able to pick lettuce, tomatoes and parsley to use for our sandwiches, and the free bananas and avocados were a delight. We would heartily recommend Shiralee to anyone visiting the island

  All the comforts of home on Norfolk Island

  We decided to visit Norfolk Island for a week during Christmas 2017. Shiralee Executive Cottages was located near the Burnt Pine township and looked to suit our needs. The process of booking our accommodation and activities was facilitated by our extremely helpful hosts, Coral and David. Tours we selected were booked by them on the Shiralee account many weeks in advance, the costs of which we settled on our departure. Our hosts maintained regular contact in the weeks leading up to our visit. We were met at the airport on arrival and given a short "cook's tour" of the Burnt Pine Township on our way to the Cottages and were taken to the airport on our departure. Our aircraft departed at 5.25 pm and we were given a complimentary late checkout as a result, a thoughtful and much appreciated gesture by our hosts. The Cottage itself was of a high quality and fully self-contained with a bedroom, kitchen, full bathroom and living area. Full laundry facilities are available to guests if required during their stay. A modern car is included in the package, the only cost being to fill the fuel tank prior to departure. Travel around Norfolk Island is best by your own transport unless you are part of an organised tour so the inclusion of the car turned out to be an excellent idea. Our hosts played an important role in ensuring that our stay was both enjoyable and memorable. They were readily available during our stay and happy to share their knowledge and experiences of the various attractions of the island. I can fully recommend the Shiralee Executive Cottages as an excellent destination for both the quality of the accommodation and the commitment of our hosts to ensuring our stay was free of any challenges. We travelled as a couple but family accommodation is also available. Some of the questions listed in the review pro-forma relate to hotels which is not necessarily relevant to Shiralee Executive Cottages.

  Perfect spot

  Shiralee Executive cottages are perfectly situated to get around the Island, no need to keep taking the car, an easy very short drive to the historic sight and Emily Bay, and within walking distance of cafe's. Beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean, the kitchen has everything you need should you not want to dine out, and the bed was really comfortable. Wonderful hosts more than happy to help out with any questions. Definitely would recommend Shiralee Executive cottages to anyone visiting Norfolk Island.

  Lovely cottage !!

  Stayed here for a week. Car is included & phone as wifi is nonexistent as a Telstra costumer. Bed was a little firm for me & pillows a bit lumpy but over all good. Kitchen is reasonably stocked, we did all our own cooking so handy having a kitchen. Owners r accomodating but Coral pointed out that cottage is self catering when I asked for more salt. There r free laundry facilities which is very handy. Would def stay again. Cottage is clean & central.

  IMMACULATE COTTAGES - FANTASTIC HOSTS

  Norfolk Island is a minute dot in the South Pacific. Once a brutal penal colony its is now an idyllic island Paradise where the lifestyle commands a very relaxed and carefree existence for all its 1800 inhabitants. With daily temperatures of 25 degrees the blue waters of Emily Bay (just down the road from Shiralee) offers the perfect spot for snorkelling. The island is tourist orientated, friendly, safe and has the quaintest vegetable/fruit stalls dotted around the Island to purchase local produce. I could go, on and on but come on over to Norfolk and experience it for yourselves. Coral and David are the most hospitable hosts who go out of their way to make you feel right at home. I highly recommend Shiralee for your stay at Norfolk Island.
