A week programVery good choice for the price I paid, good location - very close to MRT so mobility is guaranteed, neat and tidy rooms, and a very good Manager. The crew tried to feel us warm by offering food to suit our taste. Thanks to MMT

Comfortable HotelThe hotel is near to the train station. Less than 5 mins walk to the train station. The bed is very comfortable. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Our room is facing the main road and there is a hospital across the street. It could be a bit noisy at times. Generally it is a good hotel to stay.

Value for moneyThis small hotel has a great location in a super neighbourhood. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The service is friendly and warm. Basically what they deliver is value for money since prices are also very good. But, its room for improvement, especially on the breakfast part of their job, and if that`s organized, we have one of the better options within this segment of hotels in Taipei.

Superb Boutique Hotel with Great Hospitable Staff1. Allowed us to do luggage storage and early check in 2. Manager of the hotel and rest of front office staff are super friendly 3. Location is the best - near watsons, hi life, kfc, mcdo, starbucks, mos burger, japanese restaurant, fruit market, infront of major hospital, police station... 4. Location - along major road, in front of bua station, 5 mins aways from MRT shuanglian red line 5. FREE Breakfast buffet-rice, ham, egg, vegetables, tofu, bread, coffee, tea, fresh orange juice. 6. FREE drink station- water, coffee and tea at the lobby available all day. 7. Daily housekeeping - clean room, fresh towels and blankets, refill of toiletries... 8. Bathtub with jacuzzi with free sachet of lavander oil 9. Got a free room upgrade - We booked an Executive Room only 1 queen size bed and the manager gave us Executive Room with 1 extra bed no extra charge. Room is carpeted with table and chairs. TV. WiFi is strong in the room. Quiet at night. 10. Affordable rooms, homey feel and friendly staff. Thank you Shin Shih Hotel! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

TLDR... AwfulIn the evening of Friday, 27 March, 2020, I went on Agoda, found a good deal, and booked a room at Shin Shih Hotel. My credit card was charged, I got the confirmation. On my way there the hotel emailed me asking me to cancel the reservation; it was already ~7:00pm, I was hoping to be asleep by 10. Apparently someone had listed the price for the hotel too low (thus the good deal). I, maybe fairly, maybe generously, offered to pay triple what the officially confirmed booking rate was (see picture), whoever replied that night didn't seem to fully understand me, and made very light on the mistake they had made (see picture). Because of that reply I transferred and continued the rest of my journey on a public metro system in a huge city with dozens if not hundreds or thousands of coronavirus cases in it to the hotel. When I arrived, my offer (which I had thought was already accepted) was completely ignored, and I was offered a bribe of two (truly mediocre) chocolate bars in exchange for paying ~8 more times than what I have already paid. After getting no consideration on any of my offers I left, and went back into the biologically hazardous russian roulette known as the subway. Maybe the hotel isn't terrible, maybe the rooms don't stay in a perpetual state of filth, and maybe the customer service isn't arrogant, lying to get customers, and cheating them out of money while subjecting them to the inevitable worry that comes with traveling during a pandemic and uninevitable contraction of potentially life-ending disease, but it seems like it is to me. I also still haven't been refunded for my original purchase, thieves.
