  As I am visiting relatives for the next few days & the train leaves early from Strathfield Station Sydney, I decided to leave a day early & get a nice hotel. Found the Shilla Lodge Hotel on the Boulevarde in Strathfield. I have a nice quiet room & I am 300 meters from Strathfield station. The staff at the Shilla Lodge Hotel are very helpful ... always wanting to help me! The gentleman that carried my bag to my door was very helpful! It is a nice if room with a lounge room where we can make a cup of tea & relax ... just what I need.

  Nice Surprise

  Great place to come back to after a day of sightseeing. Daniel on reception, very welcoming on our arrival, helpful in giving us information. Rooms are small but extremely clean, each one has a small bar fridge, clean bathroom with great water pressure. Strathfield train station a 3 minute walk from Lodge. Trip to Circular Quay 15 minutes. This is a Korean suburb and the choice of restraunts unbelievable. All in all a nice and economical place to stay

  Converted Dorms!

  Appears to be just converted student dorms, very basic and spartan, TV reception poor, lighting poor. Beds OK. Floors were floating style for high wear, certainly not for comfort. Basic levels of room amenity only.

  Solid 3 Star Accommodation

  I stayed 3 nights in a room with its own ensuite and I was perfectly happy. I felt the price was reasonable for what was provided. I normally stay at 5 star hotels so this was a new experience for me, but my experience was great and I will certainly stay here again. Pros: - Good sized room for the price - Very clean - Friendly reception - 2 min walk to Strathfield train station (with easy access to everywhere) - Major grocery shop (Woolworths) is 3 min walk and is open to midnight everyday - Lots of excellent restaurants - amazing for Korean food + Indian, Chinese etc - Good wifi - Excellent aircon/heating Cons: - Its a Lodge (next step up above a Hostel) so dont expect anything fancy - Need to carry suitcases up one flight of stairs on arrival. There is a lift but its not visible on arrival. - No daily room cleaning (but I assume its you need anything they will supply it). I didnt need anything extra. - No services - i.e. no room service etc (however its literally surrounded by restaurants) - The location is very easy and convenient for travelling to anywhere but its not in the Sydney CBD. Overall rating - 4 out of 5 .... keeping in mind that this is budget accommodation.

  So rooms were super clean and tidy Was more like a back packers accomodation, phots made room look bigger then actually was There was a shared bathroom (communal) it was gross with signs that say dont flush toilet paper put it in the bin (was a bin without lid) The showers were dirty and full of hair No bath mats floor mats etc Shared kitchen was a mess The elevator (had do not use if not required) omg
