  AWESOME EXPERIENCE

  Our stay at Shikwari Game Reserve was an awesome experience. The people of Shikwari Game Reserve has harts of gold, they are friendly and more than willing to walk the extra mile to ensure you have all you need. The room we stayed in was beautiful. The food which was prepared by Ann and Unesa was tasteful and made with love. Noel, the guide wanted to introduce us to his best friend Boytjie, but our stay was to short for the honour. We saw the biggest male Kudu. The wild animals are well looked after. If you want to have a great experience Shikwari Game Reserve is your answer! Thank you all for the great experience, keep your passion in what you are doing.

  OUR STAY WAS MEMORABLE, THANK YOU

  My wife & I spent the weekend of 19/21 September at this majestic place. The reception, the accommodation,the management & staff was top notch! We were also given advise about nearby tourist attractions which we enjoyed some of like visiting Jessica the Hippo and some places of note in Graskop! The entourage that we met there of other visitors was also very. It is just a pity that the autumnal grass was not that good and although we spotted some wildlife - we even were invited to the feeding of the zebras - it was not ENOUGH!! The weather was fine - but much hotter than the highveld (our home), the room was spacious, immaculate. The food was divine!! It really was a pleasure to have graced this gem and would not mind going back - the long drive is NOT a deterrent!!

  Service was terrible from the owner

  Upon my arrival was informed that i had no booking and the owner who happened to be also the receptionist was rude, i felt racially discriminated.i wouldnt recommend the place to anyone due to the service that Sue provided

  Below average for a 4 star reserve

  My friends and I were booked at this establishment for NYE. The staff is extremely friendly however there are several things the game reserve needs to improve on especially given that they are a 4 star establishment. 1. The managing directors who happen to also handle the admin are old. Our bill was 6,4K and on 2 occasions swiped the wrong amounts with the first one being (R64,80c). Similar mistake the second time around I then offered to help her. Imagine if I wasnt Christian! 2. The premises are dirty (sorry, had to put it like it is). The floors by the pool and dinning area look like they havent been mopped in days. The mirror and the basins by the outside bathrooms near the pool unclean. The towel basket by the mirror outside was not Even emptied for the duration of our stay. Is there anyone ensuring the outside showers are also clean? The rooms were however clean. 3. Pool is dirty and slimy. 4. Breakfast is beyond basic! Theres a great need of improvement here. Its almost as though the premises arent being maintained. Please look into how you can make the lodge great again. Highlights: Friendly staff Animals roaming around

  Relaxed

  We had such a lekker weekend. Staff and owners are super friendly and very welcoming. Dinners were delicious and we definitely did not go hungry. The suite was neat and clean and very spacious. We did not get a chance to swim but the other kids there had a blast. It;s so relaxing we even had a zebra come look what was for dinner. It was awesome. It was hot but our room had a fan and aircon so it was very comfortable. The best part was the outside shower.
